quite.
now that we all settled on an individually identifiable avatar, this business is finally concluded, right?

Well, what did you expect after a line like this:

ZFR:
I don't see the problem, most people do have have THE individually identifiable avatar now.
of course some don't (I'm looking at yours for instance, JOE!) but you can't expect to bring everyone in line.
Sooo, can we start now? :D (well, in fact I have to go to work now. but you know. HYPE!)
Looks like we still all have other people's avatars or variations thereupon. If that's how we're doing things, count me out.

It's been nearly six years since your game was cool...

But seriously, it would help me moderating if everybody had unique avatars. I know it wouldn't have affected the rules, but I would have thought twice before allowing ZFR to shoot himself in the prologue, if I hadn't thought that he was Lifthrasil. I would have at least written the flavour differently.
That was a minor mistake, but I wouldn't want to make another. Is it too much to ask?

I can get behind this. Moderation is a chore even in the simplest game setups.

But when someone says I'm going to take my ball and go home if you don't play my way.....it could be misconstrued as childish.

I would never say it was childish, but someone else might get the wrong idea.

How about this then? Our common avatar will never be one which belongs to and is associated with one of the players in this game. This way we keep our fun, but mistakes like the Lift mistake you described above won't happen.

You mistook me for Lift because I used Lift's avatar. If both of us were using a completely different avatar, a Shrek avatar for example, you would have had to read the name and wouldn't have made that mistake.

Would that work for everyone?
