GymHenson: Btw to Vitek re post 56 in observer chat: This is why people REALLY should pay attention to my posts a bit more (I mean everyone in general, not just you).....as they might be more than just fluff sometimes. ;)
How would paying attention to it made it better if I just simply don't know that movie?
But I was joking in that observers post.

GymHenson: Yer right...my mistake. :)

BTW did you notice any of my crumb posts from early game? If so, which ones?

(It seems Trent noticed the ovaltine one, as he pointed it out in the observer thread)

I didn't! I was kind of distant for D1 and by the time I caught up the catte seemed to be pretty much out of the bag.

To Trent re scum chat 92 and 160: I'm honored that you saw me as such a threat worthy of an early NK. I probably wouldn't have felt that way had it actually happened, but I take pride knowing my fumbling around kept you on your toes.

To Hunter re scum chat 208: Im honestly curious what that outcome would have been. I'm convinced it would have canceled out and you would've killed me.

dedoporno: We played board games with our guests until 6 in the morning! We played Terraforming Mars for the first time and it was glorious - the game is awesome!
Prelude is worth getting for slightly jumpstarting your development and thus speeding up the early turns; with it, you might've been done at five thirty already! ;P Also Hellas and Elysium once you've played a couple of dozen times and are looking to mix things up a bit.
We mostly play it as a 2-player game - mostly due to covid, of course, but it does work very well as such, only losing a little bit of the positioning battle on the board that you get more of with more players, and as such it'd fill many of our evenings regardless.

Did you ever read the books that inspired the designer? (Red Mars, Green Mars, Blue Mars - by Kim Stanley Robinson). If not, and if hard science fiction is at all your thing, they're well worth your time!

...

Oh, yeah, also, nice game, y'all! ^_^ I'm particularly impressed by how completely different play styles - and misconceptions about many different things - still meshed together beautifully for a great win.

I have it but haven't read the rules yet. We needed to get a general understanding of the core game first and next time we'll include some expansions (Prelude for sure as the game did take a while to kick off).

I wasn't aware it was based on anything. I might look them up, thanks!
Micro, first post in observer: "after 60 or so posts, i think ZFR is more aggressive than usual, so have him leaning scum,"

Is there a game you hAven't suspected me scum from the get go...?

Vitek: How would paying attention to it made it better if I just simply don't know that movie?
If it were me, i'd look up the phrase, then find out what it'd been mentioned in.....and then likely view the scene from the film with that line & try to connect the dots. :)

(This isn't me knocking ya, btw, if it comes off as such)

Btw, it was made to not be too obvious....hence the shortened line(not the full line from the film) and all.

Sorry for not getting that....the limits of text and all that.

For your first couple of games, I'd go easy on the expansions (other than Prelude). There's plenty to keep you occupied just in the core game, and even more variables to keep track of and take into account isn't really making the game better. (That's also why I like Hellas and Elysium; it mixes things up without expanding the scope of the game.)

JoeSapphire: You're up next to host, yeah?? :D
If he is, then here's hoping he spends more time modding it than he did playing this game. ;)
Finished reading scum chat.

So my trap wouldn't have worked because trent didn't tell anyone whom I investigated...
Nor my breadcrumb...

:(

I asked Lift but blae wasn't an option. :(

I could have tried murdering someone but I couldn't think of the right person to kill (on the slim chance that the action succeeded).

I'm fairly satisfied with my choice of butt-beetling korotan though.

I am next to host. It's the the ready salted game I promised Lift.

Yeah, it's a bad idea. I once tried to take a break and ended up accidentally leaving for about 4 years.
