== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

However if GOG wants to get titles supported easily without modification strike up some deal with Kali so they can implement the IPX / SPX to TCP / IP emulation into GOG Galaxy. Any game that has LAN support should work instantly once they've accomplished this. How many titles have LAN support? A lot. Today probably not so much but we are still talking thousands of titles.

It just makes sense since GOG already has a majority of these older DOS and Windows titles with LAN support. This would just be an extension of actually rejuvenating older titles interest and sales. Probably a good chunk of these titles haven't been played multiplayer.

skeletonbow: I've used Kali before and know what it does and how it works. GOG has a community wishlist for people to request things of this nature, and while simply requesting something on that list doesn't mean it will automatically happen right away or ever, it allows GOG to gauge customer interest in various games, features, technologies to explore. In order for GOG to consider whether it would result in a boost in sales for the effort and produce a worthwhile return on investment for any resources they might put into it compared with other projects they could allocate those same finite resources to. They also have to consider the feasibility of the idea, whether it is worth pursuing, legal issues and many other factors. First they need to know what people are interested in at large (via the wishlist).

I imagine that if this idea could get 30,000 or more people to vote for it on the wishlist, it might have a possibility to get considered. In the mean time people who want to use such functionality can go download it themselves freely and use it right away.

It might also be a good idea to post the wishlist link for this in the forums to encourage people who are interested in this approach to vote for it.
I took the liberty of cross referencing all Kali games and what's currently "available" to buy on GOG. I think most of these are accurate. The ones without GOG links are games that Kali supports but if GOG Galaxy were able to add whatever code Kali had this would increase the functionality of the current games in multiplayer.

I don't quite have the time as you proposed to create some sort of wishlist of games to be voted on. I might have to look into that later when I have more time to figure that out. Last time I posted anything more the once I was scolded as being spam or making a typo in the title so I'm not going to waste my energy to create multiple wish lists for voting and would probably let someone else who has mastered that take care of it. However if anyone here sees any games on this list they are interested working in multiplayer on GOG Galaxy leave a small response here or go create a wishlist. I could probably figure out which of these games people really want working on GOG Galaxy multiplayer and spend the effort creating a wishlist of just the top 10 in the end. But without using Kali's code they would have a harder time getting any of these titles to work on their own. Like I said why reinvent the wheel.

But for now here's a partial list of Kali supported games cross referenced with GOG games they are purchasable. The ones without links are games that GOG should add to their library in the future for GOG and GOG Galaxy multiplayer. Again this is not a complete list of what Kali supports but the most popular ones I can recall not yet on GOG. If you don't think it's worth the time and investment for GOG to add Kali's code into GOG Galaxy you can go ahead and make your reasons known since you're probably more familiar with the protocols and how it works.

I didn't count the list below but I think that is around 100-200 games. Compared to what they got now after one year I think this would be a considerable boost and might even reinvigorate more interest in GOG Galaxy support.

I was able to create a feature wishlist voting poll for those who would like Kali code to be introduced into GOG Galaxy to support 100+ titles for multiplayer.

RottenRotz: When will SiN become compatible with Galaxy?
Most likely if/when the developer of the game updates the source code of the game to add GOG Galaxy support and sends GOG an updated version of the game to provide. Looking at the GOG store page for this game shows that it came out in 1998 which means it was developed with Windows 95/98 era APIs. This means they'll probably have to port the game forward to become a modern Win32/Win64 application first so that it is likely able to link to the GOG Galaxy APIs to begin with. Probably an extreme amount of effort to do all of that work for a 17 year old game but there are old games getting HD remastered editions these days so it's not impossible assuming they still have the source code to begin with.

Unfortunately I don't think the developer of SiN is monitoring this forum thread though so it's probably unlikely that they would comment here about it with an official answer of when they plan to support GOG Galaxy. You might be able to contact them directly and ask though if they have a public contact address or form on their website though.

Remember, it is the developer/owner of the game themselves (not GOG) that decide whether or not a given game will support GOG Galaxy and they are the ones that must write the necessary code to make it happen and then make that available to GOG.

Thanks!
I've got 29 games waiting to be updated and decided I'd get some of that done today so I started downloading the installers+extras with Galaxy. I got through a few ok, but then hit a problem trying to download Thief 2. I can download all of the extras no problem, but as soon as I try to download the installer Galaxy bails saying "Failed". Could someone else who has this game attempt to download the installer backup files with Galaxy and confirm/deny?

Update: After restarting Galaxy and blowing away the logs twice it started working again and I was able to download the game.

Separate issue:
Only getting 1.2MB/s max from GOG's servers these days which sucks as my Internet is capable of 3.2MB/s+. Just as an additional datapoint, It is not an ISP bottleneck as I'm able to download from numerous other sites as well as install Steam games at 3.2MB/s.

I just added a Galaxy feature request for a proper full screen "Downloads" status/monitoring page, which is useful for monitoring downloads in realtime while still being able to use the computer for other things without having to hover the mouse over a tiny icon in the sidebar to get minimal information. Others interested may want to vote for the feature also:

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy/full_blown_nonhidden_download_status_page
While downloading IL-2 Sturmovik and all of its addons Galaxy pops up an error message for about a half a nanosecond (please increase the on-screen time for these messages so that they are actually seen, maybe even making them stay there until the user manually dismisses them). It said something like "server problem". I can't recite the entire message as I'd need a 300 frame per second high speed camera to capture the error message with due to the "only shows on screen for a nanosecond" problem.

Update: I attempted to download the "Renders" extra for IL2 several times and mashed PrintScreen and got lucky and caught the error in its full glory. Attached is a screen crop...

Nothing happens when I try to start it up

In fact, trying to install it goes sideways until I open task manager, then strangely the installer pops open.

I can't find any logs for it either.

I almost have the same problem. When i try to install the newest version of Galaxy, nothing happens. Also on windows 10 64 bit
I've noticed that if I start Galaxy disconnected from the Internet, all the games on the list lack their specific graphics, i.e. icon, logo and background images.

I understand that these files are stored locally on the user's computer and if I try to replace one of them with another image, the original one comes back when I restart Galaxy.

As such, it seems that if Galaxy starts disconnected, it deletes all the game related images stored in order to download them again from GOG.com, but since it's unable to do so (since there is no Internet connection) it simply removes the images and leaves my game list with no logos, icons and backgrounds.

WIll this be fixed?
Hey GOG, can we can another update on when we might see a client update? It's been a few weeks now. Hopefully soon based on some of the problems people seem to be having.

Just for anyone reading the thread, this is in fact the case and it's utterly baffling. Please fix.

I tried it on my laptop with a handful of games and they all loaded fine while offline without issue, but I have noticed issues with icons loading on my desktop with over 100 games installed while offline.

By "loaded" do you mean they had their respective Galaxy graphics shown? Because I know they do launch when Galaxy is offline, it's simply that it looks quite ugly with no backgrounds and logos.

Yes they had all of their graphics: icons, background pic's, etc.
