== BUG REPORTING ==

Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

FiatLux: This page : http://www.gog.com/galaxy
clearly says :
" Backup copy download
Want to backup your purchases? We get it. For all games, you can download a DRM-free backup installer that you can save to an external disk, drive or cloud. "
and feature is not marked with a (soon) as other still missing features is .

So my question is , where is the * download the "backup copy" button when in the games library in the Galaxy client ?
avatar
Venom: Choose any game from your sidebar or go to you Library, click on any games image to go to it's page. Then from the "More" dropdown choose "Download extras". You can download offline installers and all the extras for each game.
Thank you for the answer ,
but that's a *really* poor implementation , you need to make all downloads available directly from the library view - and if you think that that does not fit into the whole "client idea" that you have then you need to make the client able to interface switch between "simple download manger and installer interface" and " community shop interface"....
All the having to switch back and forth to access my downloads simply is not satisfactory ! (I know I am not the boss but you really ought to make this in a way that will get old core GOG customers on-board also and that solution you got now is not for people that would want to use this apparatus as combined backup copy download and install manager !)

Also : what's with the I have to download my different extras for a game one by one - that's so totally backwards compared to the GOG downloaders download all extras by one click ?

But really , all you need to do id to make one more addition to the dropdown menu for the games in the library view in the right side of the Galaxy client , that is a "Download backup copy" entry that then again has two entries , "download backup copy of game" and "Download backup copy of all extras"

You can download them from library view too, just click on the uninstalled game in library view and you can do the same thing. Unless you mean because you got to go from one page to each game page to download, in which I kind of understand what you saying... it's not very efficient, but it's not that bad either.

The more drop down selections for extra content is a good idea though... you may want to wishlist it.

EDIT: Sorry read that a little to quickly. lol

That is quite possible but
A) the "All my games" button doesn't work in top left side of my Galaxy client ,
and
B) even if it is so then that still brings up question of having to switch left side sorting sorting where you could have two ways of sorting i(right and left) if the downloading were possible from right side in the manner as suggested by me....

Yea see my edit, i read that a little to quickly... sorry. It's a good idea though, so I suggest adding it to the wishlist in the Galaxy tab if it not already there.

Thank you :)

But (kindly laughing at the whole subject) "Venom" just ought to make it happen like this (snaps fingers while laughing) , it's GOG's own fault that I am expecting this from them , I have come to expect excellence from GOG and I will settle for nothing less (grinning) and the present solution is not "excellent" (smiles) ;)
I just downloaded the GOG Galaxy Beta client yesterday. I downloaded some of my games through it and there weren't any problems. After playing some of the games I recognized that the game-time tracker for all titles I played hasn't changed and still lists 0 minutes. Is this feature not implemented, yet? I tried out playing Little Big Adventure, Tie Fighter and X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter.
Just a small question. I have imported by scan or manually the games i had already installed outside galaxy.

The thing is that the client seem to re-download the game even though they are already installed.

Don't know if there has been an official answer in the meantime, but the assumption is that this download is to make the game galaxy-compatible. For time tracking, features that will come in the feature and stuff.

There are some games that this feature doesn't work for yet. For me, I've only noticed Battlefront II not tracking time. I've seen a few bug posts about it on Mantis, so I assume it's being worked on.

Did you update the alpha client? Or a new installation? Did you try running it as admin?
If it was a new installation did you change the location? because this causes problems. If yes you should do this:
Open the windows console and type: sc delete GalaxyClientService
Then reinstall the client.

Thx! Now it works. :)
Need a way to add friends without going through the forums to post.
I'm really confused with how to add another user. Is it really necessary to make a post in the forum first, just to make my account to be searchable ? :/
