CSPVG: So, while I suspected you of being the person that went through my bag (because of the hints you dropped earlier today), I have just learnt, along with everyone else, what was apparently in there. Though I expect that you're lying about that.

On night two I investigated bler on one on my 'hunches' that he wasn't quite the same bler I'd played with last game. His satas are: STR 7/ AGI 6/ CHR 5/ INT 5. As I was reading him, I felt that he was (now keep in mind, this was during our battle with the goblins) anxious at first, but he seemed to sense something was watching him and became (again, not too strangely) confused.
1) What?Everything I claimed to find in your bag was consistent with you being a stats cop and yet you somehow spin that back to me still lying about something related to your backpack? Besides, on the underlined part, Dedo pointed out that I almost certainly searched your pack over 24 hours ago (post 739).

That just smacks of desperation. I'm aware you wouldn't necessarily know what flavor items were in there, just as I didn't know about my chess board (Don't know what you got til it's gone, I guess). Someone will have to link Joni Mitchell themselves as I'm late for a meeting.

But claiming that I'm lying about something 100% consistent with your own claim is bizarro.

2) Those are my stats, so I'll assume you're correct on Hijack's. As an aside, I wasn't actually fighting goblins when you "tickled" me - I was just starting to go through your pack, coincidentally.

JMich: Convince me your vote is on a scum, and you'll have my vote too. Alternatively, convince me any information we'll get from the investigators will be useless, and I will (reluctantly) vote.
I don't have a vote on at the moment. I'm not pushing you to vote, either. I'm asking for you view on what has being revealed in the last few hours.

dedoporno: I'm asking for you view on what has being revealed in the last few hours.
That will have to wait until dawn. It's not enough to make me vote either way, and I won't be discussing opinions just before night fall.

bler144: My character is only middlin' smart
As evidenced by bringing a chess set on a dungeon crawl. ;)

dedoporno: I can't tell if I have a preference though, I'm not as set on Lift as bler is, but I can live with that in the current situation.
I think I'd prefer CSPVG over Lift, except he seems to be one of the investigative roles that we're apparently relying on. Neither one are in my top two, but I think either one beats No Lynch. Later: And now I see that CSPVG has claimed stats cop. Interesting.

avatar
bler144: 1) My counter would be, if you're hoping for something "stronger" on D4 to act on, what would that look like? Even if there is a town alignment cop, they would have to find a scum that shows as scum, claim, and be believed enough to get a wagon going. And then almost certainly be the NK on N4.
...
But step back and look at the bigger picture - if my analysis holds water then which of the two is more dangerous? Either Lift has an unknown power, and/or he's doing the NKs. If he is doing the NK it's possible he's untrackable. At this point a stats cop doesn't seem to help them as much as whatever lift would do.
-I'm not sure what we'll get on Day 4. I have this twitchy feeling/concern, so I'm voicing it. I find myself more or less buying into your argument (for better or for worse), if for no other reason than I think no one else will go for JMich or Leonard and I think No Lynch is a bad idea. If we lose a town Alignment Cop to the NK after he gives us his reads, then we come out ahead (unless that's game). We'll have 3 reads on players, regardless of faction, and we can go from there. Assuming said cop makes it to Day 4 in the first place.

-You make a convincing case. I was thinking of leaning towards CSPVG as the less useful potential role, but we don't know what Lift is yet either, and he's almost certain to be more dangerous than CSPVG. Look at the stats for Adalia and Dedo...

dedoporno: JMich and Wyrm, you are having a lovely discussion but your opinions on the things that are happening right now will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, guys! U da greatest!
*Sigh* Fiiiine. If I haaaave to.

In order to get his preferred result, JMich doesn't have to do anything except wait and maybe slow us down a little.

Working on a quick role recap. Will hopefully have it ready by the time the 10 minutes have passed.
Got classes right now, so can't contribute right now. Regardless, there are a couple of people I would be willing to vote for, if the current information at hand is to be believed. See you all in a bit.
Terror. Real, pulsing, nerve-shredding terror.

It gripped the party in an unrelenting fist. Even the hardiest among them could barely contain his fear - yogsloth himself was sweating despite the cold. The presence of the Spider was no longer a distant slither or faint keening call; it was now an immediate, overwhelming, pervasive sense of doom and perversion that lay nearly in front of them.

At last, the party came to the end of a corridor, in in the murk, they could see the grand chamber that opened before them. The Grand Wizard quietly called a halt, and turned to whisper to the adventurers:

“We are here. In front of us is the Great Hall of the List’ir’ine. For millennia, it is where Unguent the Lubricated has been imprisoned, condemned by her demonic master to guard the final path to the Crack of Dangit, where The Ring was formed. I realize that’s a lot of capital letters. A lot of crazy shit happened back at the beginning of the World… Don’t worry, my kids will publish it all after I’m dead. Anyway. She is as old as creation, and damned to an eternity of ceaseless, slavering hunger. Her power is far beyond even my own; we will have no chance to fight. We must face her. We must buy our passage. She feeds not only on meat, but on betrayal and cowardice. We must harden our hearts and get on our running shoes. What we do, we do because we must. Our goal is too great, our mission too crucial. We will rest here for a few moments before we enter. Steel yourselves, and choose wisely.”

“TL;DR – Great big scary spider, and I’m feeding one of you sonsabitches to her. Pick one.”

The party stared at each other in horror. And from the chamber in front of them, they heard the deeper whisper….

huuuuuuungryyyyy…

So is that official notice that the mod has set a deadline but won't accept a no lynch? Huh. Not sure what to make of that.

You know, other than that Yog is the greatest moderator ever, of course. Of course that.
adaliabooks - Town Vanilla
RWarehall - Town Rolecop
trentonlf - Town Seraph Bodyguard
flubbucket - Town Roleblocker

dedoporno - Tracker
bler144 - Flavor Cop (bag search, no theft)
CSPVG - Stats Cop (painful mind read)

Hijack
Lifthrasil
JMich
Bookwyrm627 - [Redacted]
Leonard03
QuadrAlien

? - Bag search, theft
? - Protector/Doctor?

If I've made a mistake or missed something, please point it out.

I think perhaps Lift should claim before much more time passes. Otherwise, we may end up killing him regardless or we're going to run out of time trying to change course if people go for him over CSPVG (or my favorite).

1) That fear is getting to our great wizard. Lift is a little closer than L-4, by this vote count.
2) What happens at No Lynch? Do we turn around and leave? Does Yogsloth get eaten? Random person dies?
Hmmm, I think it's worth clarifying. No need to add more chaos due to my wording.

yogsloth the Grand Wizard wants you to pick someone.

yogsloth the moderator doesn't really care. No-lynch if you choose. No modkilling is implied.

...JMich, I feel inclined to inform you the last time I remember you saying something like that I woke to find you'd sent Robbeasy or someone to fry my brain. :P

...Anyway an extended version of why I had nothing to say to bler: "I have reasons to believe you're not the alignment cop. But I also have reasons to believe that you're town, and I can see that you have a plan which probably involves us thinking you're the alignment cop. If I say anything now, it's going to ruin it for you if you are on to something, so I'm going to stay quiet." Does that about sum it up, bler?

(Also, thank goodness - I was worried about a modkill or sudden "highest votes gets lynched without majority" for a moment there)

QuadrAlien: ...JMich, I feel inclined to inform you the last time I remember you saying something like that I woke to find you'd sent Robbeasy or someone to fry my brain. :P
You will have to refresh my memory, since I truly don't recall said game.

Bookwyrm627: I think perhaps Lift should claim before much more time passes. Otherwise, we may end up killing him regardless or we're going to run out of time trying to change course if people go for him over CSPVG (or my favorite).
Will be interesting if he claims, and moreover if he tries to claim cop. He's presumably looking at the rest of the table and knowing it would have to be JMich, you, or QA. It fairly definitively can't be Leonard or Hijack b/c of claimed role blocks N1/N2 and rec'd actions. Which is too bad for him, since if it turned out to be Leonard he could put his credibility up against Leonard's.

If it's QA he's doubly screwed because not only could QA counter him, but I could as well. If it's you or (worse for him) JMich, the bluff gets that one of the two of you on his wagon if not both. His best case scenario is that you're the other cop, and that's still not good for him. So he's boxed out of claiming cop unless by god he is one.

Might be a gamble worth taking to make it through today, but it almost certainly bites him in the ass tomorrow regardless of whom they manage to kill tonight. Though scum know the field better than we do and maybe stalling is still the superior play for them.

If investigators spend tonight verifying Lift and/or CSP, that's another night they aren't trying to figure out who the invisible scum is (we all assume there's not just 2), and another night for scum to pick off investigators and try and narrow the odds. Another reason I think stalling helps scum as much or more than town.

It's a nice little strategic dilemma it would seem. If he does claim I'm fascinated to see what it will be.
There are ~5 hours left, and I'm not sure what my evening schedule is going to look like in that time frame. So I'm going to go ahead and move my vote now. I'll try to keep a close eye out, especially as we get closer to the deadline.

Unvote JMich.
Vote Lifthrasil.
