Crewdroog: GOG RESPOND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THAT YOU ARE AT LEAST AWARE OF THIS
If only we had a community manager here that would highlight this thread and get an answer on our behalf...oh right, that would be too much to ask.

Well you can try but I doubt you'll receive any acknowledgement from her after the initial response i.e. if you're lucky enough to get even that. :)

I am VERY tenacious. I'll keep bothering her until I hear something. And i'll keep posting the number of times i've contacted her and not heard a reply, b/c that means she isn't doing her job.

edit: but in no way spam her in a harassing way. Obviously i'll give her some time to reply. you know what i mean.

I certainly don't doubt your tenacity and the number of times you have contacted support regarding this issue shows as much, but I do seriously doubt the community manager's ability to actually be interested in anything that goes around here on the forum. Good luck though and I do hope you're able to get GOG's attention regarding this eventually. :)

Thank you my good man!
Just noticed the crashes too. I'm logged in from another laptop (Win8.1, Firefox 40.0.3, ABP 2.6.10, NoScript 2.6.9.36, Greasemonkey 3.3) and already had two crashes the first 5 minutes i've used the chat.

From my laptop (Linux - Peppermint OS, Pale Moon latest version, ABP 2.6.10, NoScript 2.6.9.36, Greasemonkey 3.3) never had a single crash or anything.

Also, never had any crashes using my phone (Android 4.4, Pale Moon, ABP) but then again, the chat is it pretty much unusable from there anyway..
Judas (of course! :) ) has replied to me. This was via chat and he asked me what version of FF i was using. So at least we know that someone is aware.

I made him aware of the various solutions we have tried, that it is not just me, and again gave him the link to this thread.

Crewdroog: Is this happening to anyone else right now? If i have chat open on another tab, it keeps causing firefox to crash.

Hmmm... I have no problems with chat on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and FF 40.0.3 (opened 10 chat tabs, wrote some long messages, left them running for 30 minutes). I will test it on Windows and OSX. This is very weird and I don't know what could be the cause for now - it should be possible to debug if we reproduce the crash and locally revert changes that were made on and before 25.08. Please be patient. :)

If you have any problems with chat, just ping me on chat... :D Just kidding.

Yeah it does not happen on Linux, several people already reported that, here for example:

Thanks for the information. I've tested it on Windows XP (FF 30, 33, 40.0.3) on Virtualbox and it's fine but I'll make tests on real windows machine when I'll be at GOG.

Thank you so much for helping us with this. I am using windows 8 and have the latest version of firefox (40.0.3). Sometimes the crash happens quickly, sometimes slowly (it took 10mins once), but you must have at least two tabs open. I just recently got this computer from my brother, so we factory reset it about three weeks ago. I have no other plugins running.

A slow-motion crash? That sounds...boring. =P

On-topic: Remembered to open a chat tab just now for another "experiment", let's see if it'll do anything....

EDIT: Another two(-ish)-hour period with Chat open (unused) in a tab. Two or more other tabs open the whole time. No crashes, no problems.

We've made tests on Windows 8.1 with FF 35, 40.0.2, 40.0.3 - no signs of crash after many tabs opened for hours, sending messages etc. I don't say that it's not an issue, but we need to reproduce it to fix it.

Getcomposted: Crash! Bang! Wallop!

ShadowWulfe: Yup, this just happened to me.
What OS/browser/addons are you guys using?
