Mmmh, Mortal Kombat is back for me. Also Fear is there, I'm not sure if that was also removed as someone wrote. Just Commandos is still missing, using the link in the library gives me 404.

Edit: Activision was the publisher of the Commandos series, or not?

VanishedOne: That's why some of us are perplexed about why GOG, which has no German or Australian legal presence, should be (criminally?) liable under German or Australian censorship law. Australia isn't even part of the EU.
They fear getting "indexed" in Germany, especially now with a German version of the page targeted at the German market. That would remove them from all German search engine indexes.

Before GOG gets indexed North Korea will be a democracy. Steam would be the first candidate for this and a few other shops too.

Does it really affect anyone? Not really as you only need to swap google.de to google.com besides that I do not know a single shop ever indexed. There was a attempt to do this with Gameware long time ago but it didn't happen.

No, it's Merge Games: http://www.gog.com/games##sort=bestselling&devpub=merge_games&page=1

Not to threadjack, but if any residents of any of the various states that have legalized versions of MJ sales in the US are reading, I will give you the same warning I give to my family and all of my friends. Even though your state may have passed MJ legalization, IT IS STILL AGAINST FEDERAL LAW to sell, grow, or possess, which applies in all US states and territories.
On this topic, it's worth noting the DEA has less than 6000 field agents nationwide so if you aren't doing something big no one is looking for you.

GOG is based in the EU, Steam (and the other shops?) is not. That could have been a factor.

Steam is also based in Luxembourg ;)

Actually it's pretty easy to get it indexed. Screenshot with GOG Commandos page in German. Send to BPjM. Wait one month. How do you think all the porn and Nazi pages get indexed?

Thanks, I was looking exactly for that page ;-) Still no Commandos there. Btw. Constructor is also missing, but I believe that was removed a while ago and is not connected to the current problem.

BTW: Btw, regarding the counter there are now 960 games on gog. Is this counter fixed and exclude the locked ones for us or is still the same counter for all. Would be helpful to see how many games are gone.

We've updated the "Herzlich Wilkommen" post with information about the locked games.

Update text:

"Two games from our catalog had to be made unavailable in Germany: Commandos Ammo Pack and Commandos 2+3. Offering or promoting these games is considered a serious criminal offence according to German law, and we have to abide by this law to avoid the risk of serious legal action taken against GOG.com and GOG.com employees. Rest assured that if you've already bought a game - nothing will retroactively disappear from your shelves."

It doesn't take a DEA agent to arrest you.

Aren't they US based?

Correct and the number of federal agents with detainment powers who don't have better things to do when they are out in the field is actually vanishingly small. The chances of a federal agent picking you up if you are abiding by state laws in OR or WA is exactly at 0% currently.

Constructor was removed ~6 months ago: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/weekend_promo_autumn_assortment/page1.

HiPhish: True, but if it is still indexed it cannot be advertised. I am no lawyer, but I assume putting up a page for purchase counts as advertising. In retail you wouldn't be allowed to place it on the shelf either. Which makes the "it may still be sold" part pretty pointless.
I'm not a lawyer as well, but I think as long as they don't have a German version of the game page, they should be fine.

Yes, but outside those states any cop can arrest you for possession, right?
