I am very happy about the upcoming birth of our fifth child! Sometime in the second half of October, baby number 5 will be born. We have 2 boys and 2 girls already, so we are naming this one Tie Breaker.

Ooh! Maybe the baby will be born on GOG's birthday!
Not in, but +1 for the generous giveaway!

This hasn't been a good year as far as I'm concerned; so many people in my surroundings have died, including one that was very dear to me. But I won a game in a recent giveaway, which was nice.

EDIT: I think I may have set a bad precedent and somewhat derailed the uplifting theme of the thread; I'm sorry about that.

A lot of changes from the last year brought me happiness in this year.
• time spent with my growing family
• new place I live, far from the city center
• challenges of new job I really enjoy
• hundreds, actually thousands of little things like games and boardgames I've played, books I've read, music I've listened to, work I've done, kids' smiles, moments of joy, dates with my beautiful wife etc. etc.

Not in, but thank you and +1 for generous giveaway!
Well, I'm still studying in college and I'm moving slowly on life, so the only thing that made me very happy worth mentioning is getting my computer fixed. Because you know, it feels good to actually be able to play games, and not just the ones on the GBA emulator on my phone. XD

I know it's probably not much, but my life isn't exactly that interesting... :(

Anyways, thanks for the chance, and take a +1! :D
My neighborhood was being filled Syrian refugees, mostly young brown men who don't speak English and they started harassing any female with white skin.
Eventually my Croatian neighbors with two daughters complained to the police, media and the politicians who let them into our country.
Police came in and got these Syrian refugees settled 300 miles away from this peaceful neighborhood.

That made me happy for now .
NOT IN but thank you as always for your kindness BeatriceElysia

It's been an up and mostly down year personally for me but finding a very nice place to be around in this forum has been a very pleasant experience for me.

But one thing that made me very happy this year was when Indonesia successfully hosted the 18th Asian Games from Aug 18, 2018 – Sep 2, 2018. Our athletes really bring the best of what they can and even in some cases over-performed and breaking their own limits. Some minor incidents aside (as expected when hosting a major multi-events) those two weeks was filled with positive energy and really bring our nations confidence and in some way a relieve and respite from political climate, religious hypocrites, natural disasters and self inflicted wounds that still plaguing us as a nation. Sure the cost of these games are not cheap, but for the energy of those weeks and the afterglow that still around we'll gladly pay (but lets take a break on the Olympics talk please).

Some Highlights:
Opening Ceremony: Tari Ratoh Jaroe, this is when we said to ourself "This is gonna be fine!"
Gold: Tennis Mixed Doubles Gold
Silver: Athletic Men's 4x100 M Relay, that Zohri kid is special
Bronze: Women's Beach Volleyball, played in a terrible rain.

Hey Beatrice! How about yourself? What made you happy so far this year?

I...have trouble finding happy things in life, but getting let go off from a job that I wouldn't have quit otherwise turned out to be quite a boon, I'm actually looking for better opportunities now, and even freelancing to build up my resume (and getting intermittent large chunks of money :D).

I have a new niece and a new nephew, both this year. And that makes me happy
Giveaways always make me happy, and there are a lot lately! :)

I'm not in this time, but thank you very much!! You're really nice!
Two things happened this year that made me happy by letting me see big smiles on my wife's face. She's Mexican-American, and first, when Mexico was in the World Cup there were a lot of videos made by Mexican fans in Russia. That was a terrific cultural exchange that she truly was happy to see. Second, on her birthday weekend I took her to San Antonio, and when we were at the famous restaurant Mi Terra I got a mariachi trio to sing "Happy Birthday" to her. She loved it.

Thank you for this great giveaway!
I dont know. I am in for giveaway but ı dont now what made me happy in this year. kind of depressive this year. There is 3 more months to feel happy :)

Life is great. I like it. but ı dont know. its the problem i think.
A person important to me, and one of a mere handful of people i can trust and accept aid from, almost died from a sudden, mini heart-attack. Luckily, i was around and helped in the recovery and coming to. Even though said person is a stubborn one and refused to go to the hospital for excessive examination, after that episode, the regular medical check-up showed no problems at all.

I never stopped believing in miracles... Especially since many things that i manage to pull off myself, every now and then, are borderline of that category, this single event topped them all. I am really happy, appreciative and contemplative. This was one hell of a shock.

As has been mentioned I am happy for many things this year. I retired from my job and am enjoying the time with my friends and family. My daughter is getting married in October so we are very happy about that.

Lets hear from the OP as to what they are happy about this year.
