This is a pretty much "close, but no cigar" year for me so far, and thus, there are very few things that made me genuinely happy.
Finding small portions of happiness in small things and small victories is the best I got, for better or for worse.
One of those I experienced while I was in Russia during the World Cup and that one could be described as a "movie scene involving a rose arriving at the right time" that will be a very nice story to tell in years to come.
I can't recall anything that made me genuinely happy this year. I found a new job which I don't really like. I lost friendship with a person dear to me. I found myself in a point in my life where I don't know where I'm going. Again.

I try to appreciate little things then like cup of good spicy coffee, new kind of music I've just discovered or a giveaway I won here (thanks again, Doc!). And how about you, Beatrice?

I'm not in.
I'm not in, but good luck for the participants - May your wishes come true.
What made me happy this year? Well:
- My second niece was born less than two weeks before my birthday.
- Despite being tight for cash and having to cancel our initial vacation to Virginia, my family and I were able to put aside a few days and enough money to take a trip to Delaware (it was nicer than it sounds).
- We are the proud owners of a new RV after our old one suffered damage during the floods here in the Northeast.
- Though I got it in December, my new desktop has allowed me to finally play my whole games library for once.
- Speaking of my library, I joined GOG and have been more than satisfied with my decision since.
- After three years of being stuck with an old iPhone, I got the chance to upgrade to a new Samsung.
Mostly the same things that later made me sad.

I'm sorry, this is not the right tone for your giveaway.

I'm not in, but thanks for the awesome generosity! :)
+1 for your generousity

EDIT: Hey wait, I already won one of your giveaways not long ago, so I´m not in.

I've been reunited with the person who's most important to me this year, so that's been great overall.

All in all 2018 has been a better year for me than...well, any in a long time. Not that there aren't problems, but I've definitely had more moments of real happiness as well.

Congrats to misteryo on continuing to add members to his band, and babark for new job horizons!
I've seen many giveaways from you BE, thanks for being generous.

It's been a couple slow years, but it's been getting better over time through out.
Went out to some bar's anniversary, got to just chill with people and music for the first time in a while.
I'm in a country where most people don't speak English to the level that i'd like to converse in and vice-versa for their language, so it's nice to be able communicate naturally with people without stumbling over words and such.

Also been in the best shape I've been in since probably high school, so that's cool.

I also like Autumn, and that's coming up. Excited to be kinda chilly.

I hope everyone else has been having a decent year, if not, it's not over yet.

misteryo: I am very happy about the upcoming birth of our fifth child! Sometime in the second half of October, baby number 5 will be born. We have 2 boys and 2 girls already, so we are naming this one Tie Breaker.
All the best for your family and - let us know who's the winner! ;)
I'm not in. But thank you for the giveaway. It's always nice to see these around.

Something that made me happy this year was going to Jazz Fest. I didn't get to see Aretha Franklin because she had to cancel due to her health but I did get to see Jimmy Buffett.

Ooh! Maybe the baby will be born on GOG's birthday!
I did tell I will be using random.org this time, but I changed my mind when this came up. Winner is - misteryo.
