From time to time I stumble upon a game, that is critically slammed by critics and gamers alike, and to my suprise I've ended up enjoying them.

The Bureau: Xcom Declassified. I expectd a broken mess of a game, but what I found instead was prefectly fun lite strategy shooter. It has a fun, 50's b-scifi feel to it and was all in all a fun game to play through. The old X-Com titles have much worse enteries in them that this is. I'd give it 8/10

Dragon Age 2. This game got a lot of flack from not being as good as the Origins was, a game I dislike immensly. Color me surprised when I actually liked it better, despite it has more repetative locations and dungeons in it. Linearity aside, I'd give it 7/10.
Aliens Colonial Marines. After they fixed all the huge problems, the game is decent.
Murdered: Soul Suspect is a very enjoyable game.

It is very linear, gameplay is a bit clunky but the story is really engaging.
fable 3
its not even close compared to 2 and hugley streamlined and simplified but its still a playable game
Two Worlds 1 and 2. Admittedly, I played 1 before knowing much about it in the media, so I had no expectations, only a breath of fresh air after the joylessness of Oblivion, but I quite enjoyed it.

By the time I got to Two Worlds 2 (1-2 years ago), I had gotten a little more "learned" and jaded, so while I recognised that it really didn't have the greatest production values ever, I still quite enjoyed it for what it was, sometimes BECAUSE of the hilarious little quirks.
Nice thread.

Blood 2
Blood Omen 2
1849

It's overpriced and not even nearly as epic as the most famous city-builder series but it's a solid game nonetheless. There are many features that we love from Caesar, Pharaoh and Zeus but managing your tight budget is enjoyable.

I agree. I enjoyed Two Worlds well enough, and I didn't really understand the negative reception. After seeing some of the early game play videos... Yeah. It was awful. Thankfully the GOG version is fully patched. Far from a perfect game, but I had fun with it. Will give the sequel a spin.

Heroes of Might and Magic IV.

This is the most hated game in the series but I like it so much. It added some interesting new features that I really liked, it's a different game than H3 but that is not bad thing. I know it had some problems with AI and the unbalanced Death castle, but I liked the overall product as nearly as much as I liked the previous version, and that's a lot.
Resident Evil 6. The game look good, it played very smoothly. The controls were greatly improved upon and the story was so damn silly it was brilliant.
Serious Sam 2. Adding to the heresy level, I actually found it better than the First Encounter.

There is quite a lot people (myself included) who consider it to be the best title in the series.
It's just that H3 fanboys hate is so strongly that it probably makes some people reluctant to speak up about it.

I thought Serious Sam had a good rep. In fact I don't think I ever met someone who didn't love all of those games.

I know but when you search about it without playing it you probably think is not a good game. I'm a very fan of the whole series (it is in fact my favourite videogame series), I love them all from I to V (never played VI, for Ubisoft policies). I had to agree with some points that detractors give (like the ones I said), but still it's a wonderful game.

Serious Sam in general, yes. Serious Sam II? Not so much.
