tinyE: I can't run Witcher 1. XD
avatar
Randalator: What are you trying to run it on? A blackboard?
I get by. :D

Randalator: Good Lord, how old are your PCs if you can't run The Witcher 2?

My rig is almost 9 years old (my GPU almost 6) and it runs TW2 just fine.
5 years, I think. And it's not a gaming PC (Dell Inspiron N5010 laptop) so I'm thankfull for anything it CAN run.

I'm sure it can run it, how good is another thing. I'm not going to play a game on minimum settings and 10 fps so I'm not even trying to run it.
People using old systems to this day isn't new, I know quite a few people who still use a Pentium 4 system with WinXP and an onboard gpu. They aren't much of a gamers though.

A dual core cpu from 2007 would probably be fine for Witcher 2, however the main ingredient is GPU horsepower for the game and that's something most low end systems lack.
How much heavier is Witcher from Witcher Enhanced Edition?
uh nothing
but thats why i game on 5 seperate computers
all the way from an i4 to a core 2 duo to a pair of pentium 3's to a pentium 2

Shouldn't it be the other way around? :O I'm genuinely asking this, as I'm not familiar with the original release of The Witcher, I've only owned and played the Enhanced Edition Director's Cut.

XD That's what I meant, ooops. I have the EE and people keep telling me even on my older PC it should work so I'm wondering if they are talking about a different version.
To old:
KISS Psycho Circus: The Nightmare Child
Trickstyle
Bad Day L.A.
Heavy Gear I & II
Star Trek: Elite Force
Enter the Matrix
Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2

Nothing to new, wont be until the end of next year, fixed with a GPU upgrade.

Well, to be fair, I can "play" it on an older desktop I have, but with everything set to minimum and even then the loading times are something atrocious, plus the game lags as hell. It runs on this laptop well enough if I set it to medium or medium-high settings, but it doesn't run all that smoothly if I set everything to high.

The thing is, I don't have enough money to invest on a new computer or even parts to upgrade the one I currently have, so I'll have to keep playing whatever I can with what I have, and fortunately my 140+ GOG games can keep me busy for months on end, even though some of them might not run properly.

I can only get it to run in 'safety mode' on my desktop, with everything turned WAAAAAY down, no 3rd person, and everytime someone stops to talk the FPS vanishes.
Witcher 3 will probably not run.

Old games all run for the moment, since my old-games pc has not given up life completely yet ;-)
Nocturne.

Seriously GOG, get this and apply your magic TLC please :)

Riotact: Nocturne.
I forgot all about this, the music and atmosphere are amazing. This really pushed the envelope for its time.

jacobmarner: So blonde: The DRM will not work on newer versions on windows.
There is a DRM free version at Shinyloot. Worked for me when I was still using Windows 8.1

Too old
Requiem: Avenging Angel
I have not gotten this game to work on any of my PCs, apparently it doesn't work at all on Windows XP and up.

Too new
Rise of The Triad (2013)
Runs terribly on my system, even on low settings. My PC runs Battlefield 3 and The Witcher 2 on high settings, but it can't handle ROTT on any settings :/

The Witcher 3
My PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements. Pre-ordered it for Xbone.
