Chacranajxy: So, I guess I have 2 right now in my "the fuck, GOG?" pile.

Tokyo Xanadu and Celeste. At least the latter has a DRM-free release, though having to use itch.io is always kinda ghetto.

fortune_p_dawg: i thought tokyo xanadu was supposed to come here. what's the hold up?
Nobody knows. Dev confirmed they were putting it on GOG... and then radio silence.

MJVandershonk: Is Subnautica still on the list? It got its official release on steam a few days ago yet the new trailer doesn't feature any GOG logo. I'm sure I saw it somewhere on here

Marioface5: I don't think it's going to be released here. A while back on Twitter the developer said that any PC versions will most likely be exclusive to Steam.

The only mention of Subnautica in this thread was from some weird Trello card about "GOG Shipping".

Despite the card being more recent, I would expect the Twitter post to be much more reliable.
Makes sense I suppose, if they were going to add microtransactions/market features at some point they would have to tie it to steam.

We're still finalizing some things with our developer, but hopefully soon!

Apologies again for the wait!

wait.. isn't the developer Ghostlight?

Didn't Ghostlight just tease new stuff coming to GOG soon?

Interesting...

Ghostlight did tease stuff, but they're a publisher unrelated to this game. Tokyo Xanadu eX+ is developed by Nihon Falcom and published by Aksys Games.

Nah, I know that Tokyo Xanadu is a Falcom joint, but I believe that Ghostlight developed the PC port.

There's no mention of it on Steam, but according to this Twitter post I just found they were supposed to be working with Aksys on the PC port: https://twitter.com/ghostlightgames/status/889512251568377856?lang=en
This may just be me desperately grasping for straws, but an article about why Monster Hunter World is delayed for PC had a very interesting bit of info:

"There's extra work you need for PC as well. On console you use first party matchmaking, you just kind of plug into it, whether it’s PSN or Xbox Live, but on PC we’re going to have to work more to get our own matchmaking working."

Source: http://www.pcgamer.com/monster-hunter-world-producer-explains-pc-delay/

If the game were only releasing on Steam, wouldn't that take out any need for them to have their own matchmaking? I feel like doing their own matchmaking would make more sense if they're planning on crossplay between Steam and GOG.

Possibly, but then again why not just use Galaxy on the backend which allows for matchmaking between Steam / GOG and even consoles... so seems like that might be a reach.

It's possible they just decided not to use Steamworks for various reasons... or it's possible that Steamworks it a lot harder to integrate than console API's so that have a lot more work to do (in which by "own" they really meant Steamworks). Kind of hard to reach any type of conclusions based on that.

To avoid derailing this thread, I suggest using the other one instead:
Vague signs that a game might be released here (not even *unofficial* confirmations)
