Alm888: According to devs. (see attachment) they hope to release their A.T.O.M. RPG on GOG by 24th of December.
avatar
ciemnogrodzianin: Any chance for this one or we've already got some official refusal?
No, there was no refusal.
I believe, it is GOG being GOG here. Backers (myself included) already got DRM-free direct download of version 1.06 as a temporary (I hope) solution while GOG is celebrating the New Year.

AlienMind: Apparently we get one game per week now. And these are even itcho.io titles.
Or, y'know, maybe they're recovering from the Winter Sale and holidays? That being said, I can't imagine the first week and a half of January is a major release season. Everyone's all shopped out from Christmas.

That's what I thought too, but as it turns out last year by 9 January GOG had already released 6 games (Death Gate, Cold Waters, Atlantic Fleet, Oriental Empires, The Lion's Song, Late Shift), plus announced 1 pre-order (Treasure Adventure World) and 2 upcoming games (Nantucket and Q.U.B.E. 2).

This year, only 2 upcoming announcements so far (Feudal Alloy and YIIK: A Postmodern RPG).

The latest unofficial confirmation on DUSK - "the HOPE (not a promise!) is that it will be out on GOG for you all some time this year" -

Mafwek: What makes it extraordinary compared to other 2d Souls-like games? Not trying to be mean or troll, just curious.

Alexim: It's subjective and obviously I haven't played it yet, but from the material released so far it seems that they have built the game with much skill and attention to detail, with a lore to discover and many ways to customize your style of combat, it's something that I haven't seen in all the emulators released after the success of Dark Souls.
That got me curious. That one: https://store.steampowered.com/app/718590/Dark_Devotion/ ?

That pseudo-retro pixel art style makes my skin crawl but everything else sounds pretty cool.

*shrug* As usual gog loves to miss out on the most popular x-mas gifts: money. Till they start releasing its spend.

Not really unofficial, but Eitr is coming in Summer of 2019.

I'd say it's (99.9%) officially confirmed...

I think Eitr was 4 years on GOG page, any info on release date is welcome news indeed.

Anyone got info on Druidstone?

Hopefully Warhammer 40K Gladius Tyranids will show up here on the 15th. Slitherine are rather consistent with their DLC releases here so it should - but nothing official so far.

I wonder how many games from KickStarter have just stalled and disappeared.
I remember being excited for Children of Morta at one point. Now I don't really care.

This was the first game that really got my interest in Kickstarter campaigns.

Unfortunately - like so many great promises - it flopped. The saddest thing is when so many projects fail and the devs don't even have the decency to address an apology or give an explanation to their backer and supporters.

EDIT - This too was one of the first community-funded games that grabbed my attention. It was a massive flop when it first came out, but the devs seem to want to correct their mistakes, even though it's taking them far too long. But how is one to criticize them, when things like Project Zomboid and 7 Days to Die seem like a never-ending story?

Good to know! I can't wait to play as the Tyranids.

If it's any consolation, the game was recently delayed to 2019 because they wanted to expand the game further: https://steamcommunity.com/games/330020/announcements/detail/2521351362631577118
What they've shown looks good though.

Overall crowdfunding has been a great success for games from my point of view. The bitterness of a game not delivering on its promises gets outweighed by the games that do and which never would have existed without it. There's a long list of games like that, with even some All-Time Greats on it. There's also a good chance of another batch of them getting released this year with promising titles amongst them, such as Blasphemous, Eitr, Psychonauts 2, Phoenix Point, Pathologic 2 and Children of Morta. All of them slated for a GOG release.

Don't know if this got brought up by the way, but Pathologic 2 will now be released in three parts, one for each playable character, due to the developers not wanting to delay for even longer - it was originally supposed to be released in 2017. The first part will be the Haruspex playthrough. They haven't decided whether the other two will be DLC or stand-alone expansions.
