tfishell: Nice, hopefully Cinemaware have finally worked out a way to bring their other classics.
A lot of Cinemaware's old classics either are or at least were avaiable directly from them for free download DRM-free from their website. I downloaded a pile of them about a year ago including Defender of the Crown and many others. Don't have the URL handy but it should be easy enough to find with Google if they're still offering them for free.
Last I checked, the games had been taken down. Hopefully in anticipation of selling them on GOG.

Certainly a possibility, and GOG would make them easy to install and run too so that's good. I just checked my backups and there were 14 games they had provided for free download that I have:

Antheads - It came from the Desert II
Defender of the Crown
It Came From the Desert
Lords of the Rising Sun
Rocket Ranger
S.D.I
Sinbad and the Throne of the Falcon
The King of Chicago
The Three Stooges
TV Sports Baseball
TV Sports Basketball
TV Sports Boxing
TV Sports Football
Wings

It looks like they've ported some of these titles to iOS. Perhaps they previously threw them up for free download out of nostalgia and wanting to keep the memory alive for gamers, but got enough downloads and other feedback that they saw a potential to monetize them by bringing them back to life on modern platforms like iOS et al, and later decided to pull the freebies back down while they work on a new commercialization.

I'm not familiar with most of these games, but who doesn't remember Defender of the Crown? That was such a classic in its day. I think that would be as popular as any classic title on GOG and it'd be nice to see it show up here for sure.

Were these the DOS versions, Amiga version, or Windows remakes? I know there was at least a Windows remake of the Defender of the Crown, which IMHO is superior to the Amiga original, even with my nostalgia glasses on. Not sure if there were any other Cinemaware remakes for Windows.

I don't care for the DOS versions though, I think they are EGA (worse graphics) and no sound card support?

I downloaded the MSDOS, Amiga, and Commodore 64 games for each depending on what was available. They also had some for Atari ST and a few others at the time IIRC, but I just got those 3. I think I have the Windows remake of DOTC somewhere also but haven't seen it in years.
Teslagrad will be on GOG Dec. 13th:

I'm just waiting for the "Oh no! Not another indie puzzle platformer!" moaning again. ;)

I remember seeing some mention of this game a while back. Looks very pretty, and it seems it has more than the usual run-of-the-mill, one-trick pony mechanism most of the genre features. Consider me quite interested. :)

I think I'd draw a line at a corn-studded turd myself. :-P But I wonder if this means Trails in the Sky 2 they recently announced for Steam is also coming to GOG...? I certainly hope so.

Haven't played any of them yet... I've been waiting for them to go on deep-sale for quite a while now but to no avail. Hopefully GOG will deep discount it before the end of the month when the Fallout titles they carry get removed from the catalogue. If not, I'll probably end up just picking up a Fallout Collection Pack on Steam during a future Black Friday type sale I guess. Would be nice to try this classic series though as it seems to get a lot of praise overall (specific titles notwithstanding).
