RayRay13000: I'm getting to the point of quitting Dead Island. Maybe I can't get into open stuff as much as I did years ago, but I haven't seen anything that wowed me. I kind of like the weapon customization stuff, and combat is sort of fun, but everything else isn't really doing it for me. Oh yeah, there's a bunch of blood and stuff...ok? After playing No More Heroes and other violent things, I'm pretty much desensitized of blood, gore, and all that other stuff.

AdamR: My advice - if you are not enjoying Dead Island, quit now. Don't waste any more time.
I forced myself to play the whole thing, hoping that it would get better and that I might like it at some point, but it never happened. 25 hours wasted.
If you can't get into it and enjoy it in the first hour, you won't enjoy the rest of it. It doesn't get more interesting. Nothing changes.
Yes, this! My friend and me wanted a game we could play co-op since we had pretty limited in this category, so I suggested Dead Island. It looked fun, with the crafting, scavenging and exploring. So we both got it. We enjoyed it in the very beginning when you're in the hotel and the surrounding area, but later on it felt like a trudge. Unfortunately, we did eventually beat it and VERY gladly at that. We still today talk about how bored and tedious the game was to this day (we played it about 2 years ago.)

So far this year I've quit, off the top of my mind, Overlord. It started out really fun but eventually just got aggravating. So I quit.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance: Just remembered another game I had quit. There is absolutely nothing interesting about this game. We thought we could get over the tedious gameplay by playing co-op, which also did not help. A total crap, don't waste your time on this.

Games quit in recent years: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Crash Bandicoot, Killzone, Borderlands, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, Guild Wars 2

Anachronox

Bugged out for me, kept crashing at one point with an hour or two left in the game. Great game, its a shame that I encountered so many bugs.
King's Bounty The Legend.

I don't understand why I don't like. It's plays and looks great, but I am just not feeling it. I also got the Crossworlds game, and now I am thinking that's rather unfortunate.
Alpha Centauri

I know it's a great game, that's why I bought it, I'm just never in the mood for an epic turn-based strategy.
high rated
Maybe not really quitted, but take it aside, for a 'moment'.

Septerra Core - game from my childhood, saw it at very cheap sale a couple months ago, and since I never really finished the game (get stuck around final stage) I buy it. Works properly in win7 after a few patch, quicktime reinstall, and setting some compatibility configuration. But, hell, maybe when I was a child I am more patient or what, the combat feels soooo sloww - especially compared to modern RPG games like FF or, basically anything else. Waiting character to finish his/her attacking animation needs around 8-10 sec or even more, especially the laser attack with humm sfx, it feels take forever. If somehow somebody able to patch the combat speed I guess it will be awesome, but for such an old game, not hope too much.

Humans Must Answer - I always like shmup genre, but with this, I feels like playing angry bird. stage is short. you're more distracted with collecting items, rather than actually shoot at the enemy. The one (even cheap) buy that I regret.

* thanks for this thread I found more balanced 'review' for many games that I wanted to buy before, mainly because of impulsive force haha. Read your experience makes me feel good not to buy those games, not only it's safer for my wallet, but I'm the type who doesn't really enjoy buy a game but don't finished it. So, thanks again.

So, you do stuff to build your base, and that's it. Kinda boring, I got to the second island and don't want to continue.

This may get me ostracized in here but System Shock 2.

Like I just told someone else, it's not impossible but it's just hard enough to not be any fun. The respawning is bad enough but having that going on and not being able to pause to read messages or change ammo combined with weapons breaking down WAAAAAAAYYYYYY to quickly. Sure I could probably win it but if playing it only pisses me off whats the point? :D

I might try that though I'm playing on Medium which shouldn't be that hard, should it?

Medium settings can have difficulty spikes as well, they're a mixed bag.

Have fun ^^

As for me, I recently quit Race07 because it's a fucking time machine; going to play Ridge racer or something. Might go back to it, though. It wasn't that bad, but it was kinda dull.

Wow, that looks like a sum total of at least $30 I feel bad about letting go. Ugh.
Not so much a game but a series. Specifically, Quest for Glory. The first two games were great, but the third and fourth would bar you from certain side quests based on your character class rather than your skills (i.e. you can't get get the magic staff unless you're the Wizard class, regardless of whether or not you can actually use magic).. If I've been casting spells and picking locks well enough to access the thief and magic user content in the earlier games, don't just suddenly change the rules and gate that content behind an arbitrary class requirement rather than my actual abilities. Especially don't take away my thief tool kit that I've had since the first game with no explanation and just make my character just suddenly forget how to do the thief sign when he was using it in the first two games. That's just fucking bullshit.

Also, the interface in the VGA games is a clunky mess. Having to click through at least two menus to do something as simple as sneak, cast a spell or use an item when it used to be as simple as just typing "sneak/cast [spell]/use [item]" is not an improvement in any sense of the word.
I'm really close to giving up on Batman: Arkham Origins. I really liked Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, even though they have their flaws (for example, both of them are a tad too long, in my opinion). Batman: Arkham Origins just isn't very fun on it's own, much less in comparison to the previous games in the series.

It's also way too similar (in terms of story and quest progression) to Batman: Arkham City and it took some of the worst parts of Batman: Arkham City and made them into "key gameplay mechanics" (while somehow making them even worse). The story is pretty bad so far, but I do at least like that they're focusing on less known characters.

It just feels like a poorly made clone of Batman: Arkham City. Hopefully Batman: Arkham Knight will be a lot better than this game...
