Ingsoc85: Party Hard was rejectedby GOG.
What a stupid concept for a video game. What's next, games about cooking?
I'm not sure if it has been rejected yet, Krai Mira. On the steam game forum the dev said he had submitted it to GOG but I haven't seen anything else.
The game looks very similar to Fallouts 1 and 2. It had 20 votes on the Wishlist the last time I checked.

MrFortyFive: Good to hear that HuniePop is going to find its way here. I was MASSIVELY skeptical about the quality of the game until a friend gifted it to me on Steam. It really is good.
No, it's not. HuniePop is literally unplayable because of the idiotic timed bedroom puzzles which are almost impossible to beat without using third-party hack engines that possibly contain viruses. In those puzzles, before you even have time to look at the screen, the progress bar decreases all the way back down to zero, even on the "easiest" difficult setting. HuniePop fans say "Don't overthink it"...but it's not a matter of "thinking." Rather, it's a matter of there isn't even enough time just to see the layout of the screen elements - before any thinking can occur - even though seeing is a necessary step to play the game.

GOG offering the unplayable game HuniePop after first rejecting it proves that threads like this are dangerous. This thread seems aimed to convince GOG to change their mind about bad games, like they did with HuniePop. When that happens, consumers get ripped off by paying good money for faulty products, which is exactly what happens in the case of HuniePop.

I'm not saying that every game GOG rejected is unplayable or otherwise bad, but my point is that threads like this set up a slippery slope that in some cases could lead to GOG reversing their previous good decisions that protected consumers before they were reversed.

toxicTom: Dragon's Lair and Space Ace...

most prominent entries in the "horrible classics" category. Since they're really part of gaming history they should be here. I probably would even buy them for the collection's sake (but not to play them).
Those aren't even games. They are literally animated films, not games. As animated films, they are masterpieces. When they are masqueraded as games, in that context they are garbage. And they should stay off GOG for that reason (unless they are offered in the "films for gamers" section where they belong, and not in the games store). Ergo Dragon's Lair I & II and Space Ace are three more reasons why threads like this are dangerous.

Yes I know I'm answering to a six-month-old post, but this is simply not true. I'm not an experienced Match-3-Player, but even I was able to solve the bedroom puzzles without any third-party-tools and without any problem. You just have match the pieces as fast as possible (which isn't very hard) and hope for some massive combos (which will automatically happen sooner or later). The game is perfectly playable and not broken in any way.

+1 to that. Even with my old eyes and reflexes, I got through them easily. I wasn't on easy mode either.

Had some framerate issues in places at launch, but nothing that should have barred release, and it's been patched. Publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment already has titles on GOG, and the devs wanted to release on GOG, but GOG said no.

So, why the motherfudge is Detention still not on gog? It received universal acclaim and Playism is selling a DRM-free build. What's the hold-up? Did gog "curators" go full retard again?
Hello,

recently, GOG.com has turned down the rock-climbing offroad simulation game OFFROAD MANIA, whose sole developer had it submitted right after being asked about a potential release on GOG.com!

(GOG wishlist entry):
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/offroad_mania

(developer blog on tigsource):
https://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=69031.0

(Offroad Mania game page on Steam):
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1222040/Offroad_Mania/

According to the GOG response "the game looks like a fun physics based game, with simple, yet eye-catching graphics", but "would not fit the GOG user base", and therefore got rejected.

The GOG.com catalog is severly lacking in racing or driving simulation games, and even more in the more technical inclined offroad driving simulations aside from Screamer 4x4 (also known as Bleifuss Offroad).
I understand that licencing issues, especially with respect to licenced car models or disfunct developers (such as with the Cabela's Offroad Adventure series, is holding a lot of them back from being (re-)released here.

But OFFROAD MANIA does not rely on licenced models, is already well polished, receives in a timely fashion updates which incorporate user feedback, has really positive feedback and reviews on Steam, and the developer was keen to release his game here immediately after being contacted about it!

So, how does a licence-free driving simulation game (of the well underrepresented subgenre of simulations, let alone offroad simulations) not fit the GOG user base???
GOG.com is not even offering any actual alternatives like the aforementioned Cabela's Offroad Adventure series, Motor M4X, SpinTires / MudRunner, etc.

I would really appreciate, if the GOG.com team reconsiders their decision and re-evaluates OFFROAD MANIA, before the developer actually loses his interest in releasing here at all.

Kind regards,
foxgog
