What's the talk of mafia doctor, of them having no gun and of it even existing? Have I missed something?

Looking at the claims from Joe, Catte and dedo, and trying to figure out which could possibly be mafia roles considering the town roles that have already been revealed. I think dedo is likely one of the scum, with either Joe the Mafia Jailer or Catte the Mafia Doctor as the other, but a mafia doctor doesn't counteract any of the confirmed roles, so makes the least sense to me.

The wife ran a list clearing you via the gunsmith and Desperado roles of not being mafia nor SK. In that she also found a mafia doctor carries no gun so warned nmillar and yourself that a mafia doctor could give a false negative to the gunsmith investigation. We don't know if they have one, but it was something to consider that if Catte or Joe are mafia docs they won't show as having a gun while the Bodyguard claim would.

@BJG; Why wouldn't mafia doctor have gun? I would assume all members of mafia, unless stated otherwise (like if they were poisoner or arsonists) would have one to carry out the NK.
Why wouldn't SK have one as was mentioned unless they had specifically listed different means of NK?

I've check the mafiascum.net wiki, and it verifies that a mafia doctor would return a "no gun" result to a gunsmith. I guess they prefer the personal approach if carrying out the NK.

We're not taking claims at face value at all, but evaluating claims as to whether or not gunsmith can give definitive results. The wife quoted from mafiascum wiki in Post 713 -

"...a Gunsmith gets guilties on all Mafia (except Traitors and Doctors), Cops, Vigilantes, Gunsmiths, Role Cops, Vanilla Cops, Vengefuls, Detectives, Neapolitans, Backups of roles with guns and JoATs that have any of these listed powers. ... Serial Killers and Doctors do not have guns." - quoted from Mafiascum Wiki

Bodyguard is not specified.

She later verified with Trent that Bodyguard does carry a gun and would give a positive result to gunsmith so there is no way gunsmith can verify dedo's claim.

nmillar: That's an interesting point that I hadn't thought of, and contradicts what Joe was implying in regards to getting a "no gun" result if Gym had been investigated. So perhaps Joe was the one "being dumb" rather than me? ;)
Oh pardon me then yes, your intention to investigate Gym was actually very well thought out and sensible yes.

bjgamer: The killer is Joe or dedo most likely. Joe claimed visiting Vitek while thinking we had him confirmed somehow. Would he have risked a lie to where he was at that time? He also claims jailer, it would not be unusual for him to be a roleblocker if mafia.
If I'm mafia blocker why do I block Vitek? nmillar was breadloafing power role, BJ was making cryptic statements. Why does vitek draw my block?
