Mostly down to gut feeling really, and there was the early role fishing that stuck in my mind. It was either Pookina or Catte, and I felt voting for Catte would be more related to our history in past games rather than the current one, so I was left with Pookina as the obvious choice.

The last bit about insider knowledge was a joke because it's tenuous at best. You did see that the post was festooned with smilies, right? I haven't backed away from anything because the post was never serious. The way you've taken all of this to heart is a bit eyebrow worthy though.

I may be misinterpreting Catte's words, but I believe he was suggesting that he himself was the one that had posted similar a number of times as town and been suspected for it?

Much as it pains me to admit this, I'm actually inclined to agree with you, but I'll wait for everyone else to make an appearance before affirming this with a vote.

isn't this all backwards? Wouldn't mafia be killing people who are town read, so the fact that I town-read pooka makes me a more likely suspect while nmillar and vitek scum reading him makes them less likely?.. No? Should it not be?

That's textbook throwing of shade. You just pointed something out but stayed away yourself and when called out you tried to downplay it as fun only to then claim you were throwing a bait. But in fact, if you really believed it to be NAi, you wouldn't point it out by yourself at all.

Who would ever do something so heinous as bussing their buddy? I am appalled.

It's been a running joke going back to the days when Catte was just a singular eyeball. Rule 2 was created because of us. I can't remember what game it occurred in, but we were both so convinced that the other was scum, that we wagered a gift of a game on it. Both of us turned out to be town and went on to win the game.

Ever since, every game we've both played in, this has always been referenced in some way, and sometimes it isn't easy to tell if we're voting for each other for genuine reasons or because we've developed a rivalry over time.

I don't know whether we should be proud or not that we're the only two players who have a rule created for us that has appeared in every subsequent mafia game. Personally, I think that earns legend status!

I thot I saw a .... Tweety eyes his cage door, checks his feathers are all in place. Huh.

We really don't want to be that noob that is hung up on mechanics - but is the thinking that Pookina blocked the mafia hit and got offed by a 3rd party, or that mafia targetted Pookina directly? To those who have been mods - what better suits game balance from what we know at this point?

To answer GH's question - Do we think ZFR would stay in the limelight questioning you if he was not town? Hm, the way that was set up - possible, yes. Do not underestimate him.

Vitek - Subtle pushing of ZFR on GH, or possible set-up to appear more town? Both backed off the GH vote as it picked up - waiting for townies? A subtle pushing of the inexperienced player to possibly help hammer nmillar, indications of being disturbed when we didn't? Reactions to scum baiting and possible suspicions - a bit paranoid/guilty conscience there?

The next sentence where "I threw shade" is the standard teasing accusation of being mafia which sometimes works as bait. I didn't mean much by it and it's only gained significance by your reaction to it.

What I thought of Pooka being the target? I don't have any specific theory, just a bunch of maybes. Simple low information pick might be the most likely reason.

It's funny, although I'm very proud of our rule, your rivalry with Robbeasy is what stuck in my memory more (as far as rivalries go). Oh, and I think it might have been the household appliances game that we had our bet in - I think Robbeasy was the final scum? Or did he mod it? I can't remember.

I "backed off" because he was at L-1 and we didn't want an accidental or "accidental" quickhammer. I specifically said that I should still be considered on his wagon and if he flips Mafia, the wolf pelt belongs to me as the first voter.

I could say "bum" but I'll say "hobo" instead. it is more genteel. Or something. :)
