Why not? I'm a champion of girth! ... At my weight I would have to be 2,53 m tall to have an acceptable BMI, but I eat and eat and don't grow any taller.
@dedo Even more than the AtE argument it felt like he was trying to muddy the waters since the deadline was close then by casting shade on multiple folks with flimsy arguments. Hence I felt the vote was deserved and I wanted to see how he’d react to identify his alignment.
Currently on a vacation in Dubai, should be able to post though. Accommodation has got nice enough wifi.
@all Let me know if I’ve missed any questions, kinda sleep deprived now so I’ll take a short nap and answer them after that.
apathy seems to have already set in for the game, we seem to be almost in the same state as we were about 4 days ago. *sigh*

Did you consider him being absent, maybe until near end of day, when you pushed for that reaction?
Well, nothing has changed since the vote count that JMich posted, but here you go.

Official Vote Count

Lifthrasil - 2 Votes (Bookwyrm627 109; trentonlf 175/199; dedoporno 235)

With 5 votes required to lynch, Lifthrasil and HypersomniacLive are closest at L-3.

Deadline for D1 is sometime after Friday evening.

All values will revert to 0 and/or blank at the start of a new Day.
From everything so far and with the upcoming deadline this is where I stand:

I won't be voting for Wyrm, flub and trent.
I don't think I'm inclined to vote HSL either, but others seem to see something I don't. Not 100% sure about that, but probably would skip.
Lift was my top suspect but I'm starting to have second thoughts. Hunter and maybe even mchack may be alternatives, with mchack maybe being slightly lower priority.

I'm keeping my vote as it is, but I open for considering the other options.

flubbucket: When you recruit me, do I have to change my avatar to match yours??
Let me quickly check - does town recruiting cult work?

avatar
Hunter65536: [...] Vote HSL [...]
Attaboy!

avatar
Hunter65536: @hsl AtE is just useless in scumhunting imo and in no way helps us determine scum from town which is just what I said before. [...]
Game #46 and, a few others too probably, beg to differ. An AtE is a form of reaction; tone, wording, timing and motivation behind it are the things I look at when scum-hunting, and it has served well so far. Of course if you're the CL, then you have every reason to dismiss it as an additional, useful sign to look out for, and prompt others to follow your lead.

avatar
Hunter65536: [...] like you being over eager in making others look bad and those who point that out look bad as well. About lift’s point, the context was not the point of contention but which aspect he was remarking about. Nice misrepresentations and shades you are throwing there btw. [...]
As opposed to you spreading warm, bright sunshine, eh?

The misrepresentation is taking that exchange out of context to invalidate my specific observation/comment in order to accuse me of misrepresentation and throwing shade; you yourself made the same observation/comment initially. Then again, if you're the CL, you have to weigh the pros and cons, and your options as to whom to push for a mislynch and whom to leave for recruitment.

avatar
Hunter65536: [...] how much shade he’s throwing in anticipation of deadline. (Which should reduce a bit now that the deadline has moved to Friday) [...]
[emphasis added]

Do tell, is it the alleged shade, or the alleged anticipation?

You seem to have missed that, for reasons unrelated to the game, it was I who asked for an extension. So, if I hoped/expected the extension had good chances to be granted, why would I be getting antsy? If, OTOH, the deadline had remained as initially planned, why would I have waited so long to make my cases, then ask for others' thoughts, and right before I wouldn't have had any time to be around? To achieve No-Lynch? To rush the lynch? Either of the two is anything but inline with my usual play-style/meta, and would only get me in trouble; you think I'd be that careless were I the CL?

avatar
Hunter65536: [...] it felt like he was trying to muddy the waters since the deadline was close then by casting shade on multiple folks with flimsy arguments. Hence I felt the vote was deserved and I wanted to see how he’d react to identify his alignment. [...]
Which multiple folks would that be? Lifthrasil's been in the spotlight for most of the Day, dedoporno already had, as mchack put it, trentonlf on his back. I didn't see you saying that any of the arguments made against them were flimsy ones and nothing more than casting shade. That leaves you, so putting you on my suspects list equals to muddying the waters (again, muddy the waters to what end?) and throwing shade.

Ah yes, reactions are indeed interesting. And I didn't even vote you.

You call my arguments flimsy, and that's it - no elaboration on why, no specifics, nothing; seems like a cop out to dismiss someone else's case, make accusations and vote them. On top of that, you base yours on feeling - you've yet to make one that's not prefaced with a variation of "I/it feel(s)/felt"; another cop out. Quite interesting for someone completely discarding AtE, you know a form of reaction that puts feelings top, front and centre.

On a side note:

*looks at the "6 hours ago" timestamp of Hunter65536's post #304, then reads the "I’ll take a short nap and answer them after that" bit*

If 6hrs is a short nap, I can't imagine how many hours your regular night sleep consists of...

Lifthrasil: ~ Take on Hunter65536 ~

You comment on trentonlf's "suspecting him = throwing shade", yet nothing on this in your take on Hunter65536. Do you see differences, and if so, what are those? If not, any particular reason you didn't make the same point about him?

avatar
Lifthrasil: [...] and, hopefully, an incentive to become more useful and contribute something.
Ooooo Kay.

What are yours?

trentonlf: apathy seems to have already set in for the game, we seem to be almost in the same state as we were about 4 days ago. *sigh*
And what exactly are you doing about it besides sighing?

avatar
Bookwyrm627: [...]

*squint*
Maybe I didn't look back far enough to see the source or something, but who said you did? [...]
Nobody? It was just a (poorly prefaced?) addendum within the context and flow of that particular exchange with dedoporno in relation to my view of mchack, i.e. I don't want a piece of him Today which doesn't mean that he gets an unconditional free pass from me. I probably could have worded it differently. /shrug

avatar
Bookwyrm627: [...] I'm seeing a lot of my thoughts/words from earlier in the thread being repeated. [...]
Could you elaborate?

avatar
Bookwyrm627: [...] That leaves...Lift, Dedo, and HSL (in no particular order). I admit that I'm not looking forward to trying to sort it out; that is going to be some long reading and hard thinking.
How's that rereading going?

avatar
Bookwyrm627: [...] Thus, the rereading I need to do to see whether the misgivings solidify or dissipate.

I should also reread Lift. Reviewing the posts from Trent and Hunter would also be a good idea.

(And while I'm at it, I may as well reread Mchack and Flub. Then me and Krypsyn, and if the Day hasn't ended, maybe even JMich.)
Or did I misunderstand you'd do it?

avatar
dedoporno: [...] Lift was my top suspect but I'm starting to have second thoughts. Hunter and maybe even mchack may be alternatives, with mchack maybe being slightly lower priority. [...]
What second thoughts and why are you having about Lifthrasil? And could you elaborate on why you're considering the other two?
avatar
HypersomniacLive: What second thoughts and why are you having about Lifthrasil? And could you elaborate on why you're considering the other two?
That he may not be the best candidate for the CL, of course. After his more vocal responses to you he seems to have softened a bit and made some comments in defense of others (the one that made the strongest impression was the first part of his read on Hunter) that felt quite townie. He didn't burn the bridge stating that Hunter may be giving a great performance, but still, the tone didn't feel anti-town. I've come to expect of Lift to be among the more outspoken players and I'm not sure if he would tone down and not try to pass the heat to someone else like that. I wasn't convinced of anything before but he was my strongest suspect yet now I feel some hesitation.

As for why the others - we have to lynch someone and I have a list of people I don't like getting lynched at the moment which leaves the ones I'm more open to. Hunter wasn't making an especially stronger impression initially but your interactions feel odd. From the two of you I think his is the one that I'm not as used to and doesn't feel as familiar.

@all Let me know if I’ve missed any questions, kinda sleep deprived now so I’ll take a short nap and answer them after that.
Hm. That's not very much. Sure RL and vacation and stuff ... but I don't like the 'throwing shade' argument. Pointing out reasons for suspicion, even if they are not solid but based partially on feeling, is what town does. And crying 'hey, that's just throwing shade' is what scum does, when they have no other arguments. Unless it's really a significant amount of baseless accusations. That's not the case with HSL.

Also 'throwing shade on multiple folks' is kind of vague. Too vague. Also, if HSL was the CL, would he really alienate a significant portion of the players by 'throwing shade on multiple folks'?

Maybe dedo is on to something (post 295). Maybe you were keeping it low, participating a bit and avoiding conflict ... until HSL got too close to you. And then you decided to try to discredit him by accusing him of throwing shade - and trying to distract from the fact that his suspicion of you was what made you 'suspect' him by including 'multiple others' in your shade argument. I think this all sounds quite reasonable and it's the best reason for suspicion we have so far.

Therefore

unvote flubbucket
vote Hunter65536
@hsl Wow, that nitpicky about coming back after nap. It’s not like I left for a day or even half a day did I? Your desperation is quite clear. About the antsy thing, you just wanted people split across those choices and since it has been my observation that people lynch someone rather than let it go to no lynch i was saying that was your goal there. (Muddy the waters was the expression I used before for this)

Not sure I follow what exactly your reasoning is the way you've phrased this.

And what about mchack?

avatar
mchack: [...] AI meaning Alignment Information? Sorry, read that abbreviation before but not sure what it means. [...]
Close - AI: Alignment Indicative.

avatar
mchack: [...] But I really think scum would have a little more reason to push for a specific lynch on less ground than town. Since he probably has a plan laid out on who to recruit at night and how that will affect the next day.

"might have an agenda," As opposed to just going with the flow, I guess. ... "that you might want to get rid of" as opposed to recruiting. [...]
Do you think that the CL's plan consists of a single target for the D1 lynch, and a single target for the N1 recruitment?

avatar
mchack: [...] Sure: #25 for instance [...]
Answer (top part).

avatar
mchack: [...] Still after the ISO of Lift, I still don't think he's our best bet on hitting scum, since he's way to engaged, calling out people making enemies, not something I at least would do as scum. [...]
Can you point me to whom, where and for what he called out people?

avatar
mchack: [...] You really make people work you know ;) [...]
No-one can make flubbucket work.

avatar
mchack: [...] 2. hmm. here #213 he made a firm stance on him being the best lynch for day 1. [...]
Do you think he really meant it?

avatar
mchack: [...] But I still think CL would be in a more comfortable position when he'd be playing like HSL right now than when he'd be playing like Flub. [...]
Is the "more comfortable position" for the CL to be in play(style)-wise independent of which player the CL is?

avatar
mchack: [...] Well, Scum-me would be rather indifferent about that, wouldn't he? He knows who is scum and who he'll try to convert, so other than trying not to get lynched himself, he's fairly uninterested.
But then again, he might be interested in who are people you're prepared to get on a train on, so yeah maybe scum-me would ask a lot of questions.... O.O [...]
There are more than 256 shades of grey between being indifferent and asking a lot of questions. But nice try with that last bit.

avatar
mchack: [...] Anyway the referring to older games is a bit unfair, since I haven't read them. (Am I the only one?) Care to leave a little management summary of the part you are referring to, too? (not about to read through those games now, got my head full enough as it is) [...].
Yeah, sorry about that. Most players either followed or played in the game(s) I mentioned. In game #49 everyone but trentonlf was a lonesome SK (he was the only townie), with some interesting mechanics and restrictions. It was an interesting setup worth reading, if/when you have some time.

To get a taste regarding the tone I mentioned, you could ISO the players of interest in that game.

avatar
mchack: [...] Thank you very much. You're very helpful. [...]
Shh, not so loud, others might get wind of it.

avatar
mchack: [...] the tips HSL gave me (only one link per line. no other formating options in there) [...]
Looks like you didn't read the post about multiple links in a line carefully enough, because that's not the tip I gave you.
You can post multiple links, as evidenced in my reply to you about it. You just have to apply the "add a space before the link text" trick.

Better start thinking in other direction as well, as my flip would reveal if this lynch goes through.
