They will contact you on facebook. I hope I get to win I think my strategy is pretty good. I have played worms for 15 years and still play it to this day with friends. It's one of those games that will never get old!

Yes, but that is the whole point : rewarding people through different promotional vectors. They give something for free so that all their facebook audience show up and thus show to the world their impact on this particular social media.

Not in as I prefer to just post on this website and not on the outside there in the outside world but I was a very dedicated Worms player, especially Worms 2 & Armageddon. My winning strategy was as follows:

1.) Ninja rope to the enemy and use shotgun to shoot other worms off ledges. Shotgun can shoot twice, therefor my favorite weapon.

2.) Once Sudden Death draws near, I teleport to the highest ground that can't be hit by air strikes and drill myself as far up as possible, every pixel counts. I've won (and lost) matches because one team placed their last worm a single pixel higher up so the lower worm drowned first.

3.) To get rid of the enemy worm (usually only one enemy left) once Sudden Death has arrived, I use the targeted missile which I send underwater over to where the enemy stands. It's tricky but can be done, and that way there's no retarded waiting for who drowns first.

Hey Ciri, is it possible to ask around the office to send someone over here so that we (community) can discuss the problems with gog/forum?

It's nice that you guys make giveaways in order to gather new customers but it would be awesome that you actually cater the already existing community...

I assume that this "let the forum users know as well" does not apply to other announcements of interest made on your social media, like an item in the sale making its last appearance, eh?

You mean unlike your usual approach, where you make announcements of this and that on Facebook and Twitter, and the people who only use the forum, your own forum, on your own site, are none the wiser?

I don't mind you having a social media presence (why would I?), but it does annoy me when you make social media a requirement, either for getting information which really belongs on your own website, or for entering contests. For a company whose core value is DRM Free, it seems odd to put so much pressure on your users to get them to sign up for still further online accounts.

There are also those who have accounts on GOG but really only use it for the games and would rather not bother with internet-powered social interaction outside Facebook (or Twitter, as the case may be). This notification is for those who have a greater presence here than on Facebook but still have an account there so that they can partake in the contest that may be targeted towards those who don't visit the forums at all and may, for all I know, even have difficulty understanding how to use older kinds of social media (eg. forums, in this case) because it doesn't work like what they're used to (Facebook).

Ideally, contests would be open for participation from all media where GOG has a presence (GOG.com forums, Facebook, Twitter, Google plus, ...?), but as it stands, it seems GOG instead makes different contests for different groups. I am excluded from those contests that require using the aforementioned social networks, while, in turn, those people who do not visit the GOG.com forums are effectively (though not technically) excluded from those contests that require participating via the forums (I could technically create a throwaway account on said social media sites, but -- by my own choice -- I won't bother doing so).

Ekhm... bullshit. How is anyone "effectively excluded" from contests on the forum? Having a GOG account is all you need. There are never any rep requirements, no history of activity on the forum. You can never ever post here, not even visit the forum once, and still fully participate.

Just entering an unfamiliar communication medium may be a blocker, even if just to make a single post. If Facebook is all you've ever learned and used, these forums are quite alien.
