I started the game and finished the first dungeon. Now I was teleported to a city in Valenwood. Its night so there is no buildings that are open, I cant camp because its the city and I keep diying with goblings and humans atacking me. I really dont know what I need to do here, my journal is not updated yet. I was looking for the inn, thinking that if I could sleep maybe the woman who talks to you will tell me what to do, but I cant find the inn....

What I am suposed to do?
Try opening the map. It's either a modifier key and M, or just plain M.
First of all, this topic *really* belongs in the Elder Scrolls series subforum, not here.

Second, what I would do is fast travel (right click the map button) to another city (so that you are guaranteed to be near the exit), and if it's night, leave town and then rest until at least 6 am. Then you can go to town and talk to people to get directions on locations.

(I consider the inability to rest in town to be a rather obnoxious restriction, especially since the game doesn't even *try* to explain this arbitrary rule.)

I'd imagine it's because the town council doesn't want a load of tramps sleeping rough? But God knows what the developers were thinking and you're right - they could at least have explained it!
You could use your map to get away from the city, rest in the wilderness until morning and return to the city, then just keep asking npcs for directions to the nearest inn, they'll mark it on your map.
you should be able to survive long enough in a city. arena is pretty jank on balance on though, this is well known. just keep going until you find an inn. there won't be many or any wandering npcs that you can talk to for directions at night. do you have any potions?

arena's balance is pretty rough.

Find an inn or kill enemies + rest outside of town until day time.

Ria should talk to you, if she has not already, about the next destination. You must then ask random people in the province that the area is said to be in until one of the civilians tells you directly where to go.

Check with the mages guild since they are part of the main quest a lot I think.

Here's some tips,

Attack, step back, attack, repeat. You can now kill everything in the game at level 1, unless it casts spells.

Custom magic spells from mages guild is broken. Just power up to 99 skills and literally go through dungeons by deleting walls.

Grind easy levels by just finding a safe rest spot and.kill ambushers. Do this at the first dungeon until the yellow Minotaurs aren't an issue.

Kill guards for easy money and gear, no consequences.
Holster your weapon, roam the streets and talk to an npc, ask him the location of the closest inn.
Then open your map, the closest inn will be indicated, go there, pay for a room, sleep, and you'll be healed.
Then you can go on with your journey.

He can't talk to others since it's night time.

Also, right clicking or left clicking the map icon will bring up two different maps, town map and continental map.

You can talk to others at night, you just need to sheathe your weapon.
NPCs are not numerous at night, but there are some.

Oh btw guys, a question about the TES games: weren't Arena & Daggerfall free with another TES title?
I noticed I own Morrowind, but not those..

They should be free with any Bethesda title, so you need to contact support.

Otherwise : http://en.uesp.net/wiki/ArenaFiles
(Insert a colon between Arena and Files in the URL to get it to work, forum constraint)

Thanks everybody. Sorry for the post but I am new in the GOG forum. I clicked in arena in See Forum and sent me there...

I am not really sure how to go to the global map, I dont seem to get any reaction in the map except being able to write on it. How I 'leave' to the bigger map?

I tried unseathing my weapon but the npcs keep attacking me, so I am obviously doing something wrong. How do I talk to them?

I also tried sleeping outside the city but a bandit 'woke me up' and killed me.

I been playing games for so long and I really feel a nooby with this one. I miss a 'controls' section or a tutorial, hehe.
