The game will not work if you try run it while offline.

mqstout: Two Point Hospital - part of the single-player content is gated through online connectivity. I.e. one has to register online and be online to unlock. Plus: core gamplay mechanics (staff handling, diagnostics) are bugged in offline mode.

The "plus" part can be removed, this was fixed a while ago. Thought you'd already removed it. (The online research appears still to be present with stuff available only that way.)

Lifthrasil: Thanks! I removed the plus part.
When you have some time, you should also remove Realms of the Haunting, now fixed, as mentioned above.

This sounds like a bug. Did you report it to support and did they respond?

I sent a report. I got a standard reply about possible fixes (install directx, compatability options etc), but they changed nothing. However they gave me the email of the publisher (Shady Corner Games). I'll contact them and see how it goes.

OK. Meanwhile I put it on the list. Please let me know, when I can remove it.

I already contacted them on their discord as well. So far no reply.
Well, its been 5 days and I did not receive a response from Shady Corner, and my ticket on GOG was marked as "solved". I'll just have to assume that the always-online DRM in House of Lust was an intended feature, and that it will not be removed. If something changes I'll post an update.

Thank you! That the GOG support marks a ticket as 'solved' without doing anything about the problem is, unfortunately, not unusual. And equally unfortunate: it means that they don't intend to do anything about it, unless they are forced to act by a big backlash.

During the big Hitman disaster, they 'solved' multiple tickets reporting the DRM on the game without doing anything, until the backlashed reached their social media accounts. Only then they acted and removed Hitman from the catalogue.

Send a direct chat message to king_kunat with your ticket # and that the ticket was closed without resolution.
Re: House of Lust

While it wouldn't help someone with the GOG version currently, I'm wondering if anyone has double-dipped or bought it on JAST USA's site, and if the issue is also present there. That site is a more purely DRM-free store, so it would be concerning if the versions are identical and both require online connection.

Roundabout suggestion: we know GOG allows all sorts of online requirements and client requirements. But if the issue with House of Lust was brought up to JAST's attention, maybe the dev could fix the game there (assuming that version was also like GOG's release), which in turn would presumably get us an updated, fixed version here eventually.

That's not a bad idea. While I don't have a copy from JAST now, I could get one later today, and test it (offline/online test plus file comparisons). If the JAST version is not DRM free as well, I'll message them.

I'll report back with my findings.

And as for messaging king_kunat, I can't. I got an error due to privacy settings (either mine or his). I'll figure it out later and go ahead with the JAST plan.

If you want you can PM me your ticket number and I would contact king_kunat for you.

Thank you for investing time and money into this investigation and problem solution!
