It’s a joy and an honor to bring this legendary series from Capcom to GOG. Whether you are returning to the action or discovering it for the first time, we hope you create unforgettable memories with these masterpieces.

But Dante isn’t arriving alone. Today, more legends join the GOG Preservation Program:

Imperium Galactica

Each of these titles is fully optimized for modern systems, DRM-free, and preserved to remain accessible for generations to come.

Thank you for being part of this journey. With your support, amazing partners like Capcom, and our shared love for games, we are showing that classics do not have to be lost to time.

Let’s keep making games live forever. See you soon!
Finally! Those games have been on my wishlist for years by now (And also because DMC HD Collection on Steam doesn't have cloud saves)
Really? Not even 1000 votes on the wishlist, so GOG kinda was being quiet about. I was one of the few who was giving my vote. So... people should stop being lazy and vote the things they enjoy.

Did people expect it will never come to GOG? It would be a even better reason giving your vote.

BanditKeith2: Wait seriously the mode unlock is also in game unlockable as well as the infinite devil trigger thing? I don't mind per say early mode unlocks solid but it sucks they don't disclose this .. Everything else is fairly obvious microtransaction stuff so those don't need disclosed but ya if the mode unlocks and infinite devil trigger stuff is just what amounts to early unlocks that sucks as at the time of me making this message they don't disclose that

N1c3_0n3: Yeah, capcom should've been transparent on which dlcs are unlockable and which aren't.
Btw steam releases also have exactly the same issue. They copied releases 1:1 from there. Everything I said I learned back then from their forums. I haven't played the game yet though, so always doublecheck.
Damn that is scummy.. like seriously I don't mind if some company is charging for early unlocks if they are upfront about it as at least then its obvious and people won't get accidently doped/fooled into buying such things.

Oh well can't do too much about it be warn possibly buyers
Amazing. As cool as it was to see games like Breath of Fire IV here, most of the Capcom releases recently have just been amusing novelties - games that are on PC, but that in many cases are still better played on consoles. Not anymore, though. DMC4 is absolutely better on PC, and having the SE here DRM-free is fantastic.

DMC HD Collection is… messy. That’s a pass for me personally, but cool if you haven’t had a chance to play DMC 1 or 3 before.
I've been thinking about getting the HD collection but just about everyone that has it say that this port is a mess. I have 4 over on Steam and I think it run wells but hear that the SE is oddly enough.. a step down. If the GOG version has some improvements I'll consider it but eh.. I doubt it'll be better than the Steam versions.
GOGs version is DRM free, thats a higher tier.
do these games play reasonably with keyboard and mouse?

They do not.

Subjective.
I own them (HD Collection) on Steam and they play fine on Keyboard if you configure the controls well for your use case.

Congratulations GOG on the one more great release and CAPCOM for being so nice to us here DRM-Free lovers lately! <3
Patientilly waiting for the release of RE 4-5-6!

Looks perfectly manageable even with just the keyboard:

Devil May Cry 4 - Mission 19 (Dante Must Die)
Sadly, there's absolutely no mention of proper mouse and keyboard support. This is a big letdown, normally this should have been an instabuy for me. DMC 5 has already proved that these PC ports are below standard and just not worth it. If I'm gaming on PC, there should absolutely no reason to use a controller, otherwise I might as well stick to consoles.

You can configure HD Collection keyboard controls in the launcher, easily..

That is hardly enough for games like these, certain combos just aren't viable, especially for DMC 3 & 4.

Unfortunately some developers/publishers only focus on controller support, another example of this is the PC ports of No More Heroes 1 & 2 as they are also controller only. With PC handheld systems becoming more popular it would be no surprise if controller support takes priority or exclusivity.

Very true, another example would be Mass Effect Andromeda were you lose the ability to tilt the vehicle nose on keyboard unless you go in and remap the whole thing...... true this isn't needed to play the game normally but one achievement in the game this ability is required.

I'd argue that you're wrong.
It really depends on how you play and if you're used to playing games on keyboard.
Forget mouse. Mouse is terrible for playing games like this because of the absurd ammount of inputs required per button.
Mouse has mostly 3 buttons, but you have at least 4 fingers that could be used somewhere else if you use Keyboard as a Fighting board controller.

With games like DMC, Rising and any fighting game on keyboard, you must rethink how you play with keyboard&mouse.
First: Forget the mouse, throw it away.
Second: Remap the controls for comfort and quick button reach.
Third: Start slow building muscle memory
Forth: If you're not fast enough for higher difficulties, play on easy or medium first.

Just have fun and experiment.

Mass Effect is another category of gaming that requires a Mouse for playing because its mostly a shooter,
In that I agree. There are some games that require a Mouse for play that have terrible ports.

But these Capcom ports are fine for what they are.

By the way, many speedrunners use Keyboard only for DMC4...
