UPDATE: Heads up! There are 24h left, so now is the time to take advantage of the amazing deals and upgrade your collections. Eyes on the price, Boo, eyes on the price!

Years ago, the Baldur's Gate series changed the way we look at gaming and the scope of what was considered possible. Even now, the legacy continues through the Enhanced Editions – thanks to the hard work and years of updates to keep the inimitable Infinity Engine living on.

It's the work on the Enhanced Editions that made Siege of Dragonspear possible – the just-released, massive expansion to the timeless classic, available only for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition.

"The team at Beamdog was able to breathe a new life into the Infinity Engine classics." says Greg Tito, Communications Director for Dungeons & Dragons "We're proud to recognize their excellent work in offering the best possible experience and support for these legendary titles. We want these to become the definitive editions – featuring both the enhanced and classic versions of the games."

On April 29, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition will be expanded to include the classic versions – each becoming the Definitive Edition Bundle and not available for purchase separately. If you already own the classics on GOG.com, the games currently on your shelf won't be affected.

"We're excited to take our commitment and support to Baldur's Gate and GOG fans to the next level and humbled to work with such great partners. The Definitive Edition Bundle will give every Baldur's Gate fan what they're looking for" – concludes Cameron Tofer, Beamdog COO.

In the near future, we're also looking forward to full GOG Galaxy support for achievements in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition – as well as in the Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear expansion.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will be 75% off until April 4 11:59 PM PDT / April 5 2:59 AM EDT/ 7:59 BST and 60% off until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST. The 60% discount for Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST. The 85% discount for owners of the original saga will last until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST.

Hey, mate...You don't happen to have an extended demo in handy?! Because "try the game" applies only in that case...Not everyone is willing to throw 20 -40 dollars/euro for a game that they might not like. So if you have that demo, i can take your advice. Otherwise, is just what the vast majority of the web says. And, yes, piracy is out of the question.

Now, with that out of the way, i think that i will keep my money until i see a serious demo or i can check it when and if any of my friends buys it. When in doubt....

op2017: Me too. Absolutely agree with you!

Atombomb2097: I personally feel ripped off and I most likely won't be buying anything from gog, unless is dirt cheap. And don't get me started on the regional pricings. Best DRM is NO DRM, but the way things are handled lately by gog is really bothering me.
Well, you are always ripped off as soon you pay even a euro/dollar cent.
But yes, I understand you and also agree with you. That is, why I buy only games, that are heavily discounted = that means, at least 60%.

Shadowstalker16: Then them having a problem with me having a problem with this female characters thing is actually their problem that they need to overcome. And whether this thing is or is not a problem is not objective. There s no correct answer, so everyone will have their own. So maybe they think that because they have a problem with me having a problem with this female characters thing is because they cannot be wrong; in which case their just uptight idiots with minds of kids who can't understand different perspectives.

Cringeworthy stuff.

amok: no, it is like a religious fanatic bursting out truisms at every opportunity. You have an belief, that's great, but do you need to bring it in everywhere? At least play the game before you .Me a decision. I heard the moon is made of cheese.
lol I don't know if you're talking about the character or me :I This is stuff that is confirmed to be in the game, and I haven't reached any conclusions as to hold the game in a negative light because of this, neither am I arguing its ''propaganda'' or whatever you think. Its just quoted dialogue. I thought it seemed funny. Either way, I'm not gonna post more about this here since it seems no one has been downvoted yet and its best to end this on a less combative tone.

Seems that is how Shar-Teel sounds now....Lovely, if that's true. And truly awesome witting...
Wasn't she always like that?
So, if I own the Enhanced Editions, they'll be upgraded to include the originals. Am I understanding this right?

I thought she was. I never had her in my party, due to alignment conflicts, but I'm pretty sure she was a misandrist (as opposed to a misanthrope) in the original, just like Eldoth was a misogynist. Nothing new here, folks.
Oh, well. Still, would like to see the classics separated of EE. Not everyone would like to play both versions.

Yes, according to the announcement.

Yes, Shar-Teel was a misandrist and had those quotes in the game as it was originally released back in 1998... well before Beamdog even existed.

ValamirCleaver: If one really doesn't want anything to do with the EEs it's still possible to buy just the original games exactly how I did when I repurchased them about 10 years ago.

So back to the version that needs quite a bit of work to run on the modern operating systems, because....reasons...And seriously...how many people still have an optical drive?!

Maybe in the end I won't buy these.
I've already finished BG2+ToB before and also bought the originals here.
The new EEs don't seem that worth and the expansion leaves me puzzled.
I won't probably (re)play them in a long time.
85% is cool, but.. another expense after Insomnia+Take2 for the same things.. nope.

I still have a floppy disk drive.
And they've started to close any threads related to discussing the new LGTBQ characters on Steam. Even worse, delete them...Well...glad to have the original GOG release. Will stick to that one. When you start closing inconvenient threads, you show exactly how insecure you are on the quality of the delivered product. I might disagree with some stuff from the threads, but that doesn't mean that the people that bought the game can't voice an opinion. Refunds will probably follow shortly, seeing the way that Beamdog is handling things...
Aren't the mods fixes bugs in the original games ? If yes why people are buying the EE series ?

Painted_Doll: Aren't the mods fixes bugs in the original games ? If yes why people are buying the EE series ?
Because some people think mods are difficult to install, others don't use Windows but simultaneously don't want to mess with Wine or GemRB, and a third group do know how to correctly mess around with mods and/or how to get the thing running on non-native platforms, but just figure a single native installer is much more convenient.

Also, some people want to try out expansions only built for the EE.
