Queen At Arms - A visual novel game whose Kickstarter campaign ends in about 15 hours. I had known about it since it started, but it didn't seem like the sort of thing that most people here show interest in. However, they something recently that I thought might be worth my fellow GOGlodytes attention. There will be cameos from other visual novel royalty, including Elodie from [url=http://www.gog.com/game/long_live_the_queen]Long Live the Queen! I'm not sure to what capacity she will be featured, but it might be worth a look for anyone here who is a fan of that game.

Thaumaturge: CodeSpells--A fantasy game that aims to teach the principles of coding via a magic system that employs a "visual programming" interface. Overall it looks like a pretty neat idea, with a fair bit of scope for experimentation in the magic system.
Nice! And the potential for education is there, too.

That aspect reminds me of Glitchspace, which also requires the player to program in a symbolic language.

Heh, I saw this with less than 20 minutes left, so I thought of backing just because.

Then I saw the "deluxe edition". If I ever want to play this game, it will be with the full tier of options, so there's no point in backing 10$ and no way I'll back 25$. So pass until it comes to GOG.

Checks a lot of the currently hot boxes (survival horror, procedural generation, Cthulhu mythos references). Could be good. Have sent a message asking if there will be a DRM-free version.

The replies I just got seem to confirm this, though they are still ambiguous, probably because the developer is chatting in an informal manner with me. But they did say they will try to get it on GOG, and going with what you found it sounds like a DRM-free version won't be a problem come the day.

Here's the comment I mentioned, he then goes on to mention GOG in his next reply as an option they were going to explore. At the very least they are aware that not everyone wants a Steam key.

Thanks. Pretty much the impression I got talking to him as well. As long as they don't get snapped up by a publisher that locks them into a DRM model, it seems like they are willing to be flexible. I went ahead and did a basic pledge, as I would like to see this one get made.

Is this Battle Realms 2?

No. Battle Realms Legends is a collectible card game RPG set in the Battle Realms universe and continuing the stories of the characters from the original Battle Realms games. It shares design principles and some game mechanic concepts from the original games but it is not a real-time strategy game. While a real-time strategy sequel to Battle Realms is a project we’d like to undertake in the future, it would require significantly more funding than our current objective to do it right, i.e. up to the exacting standards of the originals. We are currently and enthusiastically focused fully on Battle Realms Legends. We think it’s an awesome game and one that fans of Battle Realms will really enjoy. We hope that if you love Battle Realms like we do, that you will support our current path. Along with our re-launch of the original games on Steam, we believe Battle Realms Legends will be a great addition to the franchise that will truly stand on its own. Its success will help determine additional Battle Realms games to come, including the possibility of a full real-time strategy sequel.
The last sentence isn't that hope-inducing though. I'd buy a Battle Realms 2, but I won't play their F2P - nor will I back it :/
