SirPrimalform: Yes, 7 protesters, 1 imam, 2 rebels and 1 Vizier accounts for all 11 players. As far as I understand there are no loyalists yet.
But who are the "good guys": rebels or loyalists? In your "reverse cult" example you named them "mafia (rebels)". Does it mean rebels are bad and you're considering to become a loyalist from initially "protester" role?

And I have not heard about imam, is that role still vacant or we have a very shy imam.

supplementscene: All Protestors have 2 different win conditions and some Protestors can win and some can lose. Protestors win by having no Rebels in gov, while being in gov. They also win by being out of gov while having a Rebel majority

Cadaver747: Really?
I thought that:
"7x Minor Nobility (protester)

- No power

Win Condition: The rebels control a majority of government, or a rebel is Grand Vizier. If you are appointed to the government, then your win condition changes to the loyalists."

I don't know what to think about it. You might be a confused loyalist or an angry imam ;)
Please read the second sentence not underlined ;)
I'm totally Town btw

I get it now. There are no good or bad guys, somewhat rebels might be counted as bad guys. If you work for government you want to f@ck the commoners, and if not - the system. Like in real life. Since there are 2 positions + 1 imam, how many places available in government I wonder.
OK, I think I get this.

Lift

Come with me if you want to live
I can't come with you. I can't go anywhere. Our Sultan has tasked me with forming a government and that's what I'll do. But care to elaborate what the danger to my life is? What information do you have, yogs?
avatar
Lifthrasil: Actually, how CAN the Protesters control a majority of government? The moment they get recruited by me into the government, they become Loyalists, right?

@zazak: this is actually a question to the mod for a rule clarification
I've figured out how the game goes. If you pick 2 players and survive that mean you have either loyalists in government or protestants

If the protestant is an Imam he will nominate players not in government and the game is pretty much over if I understand it correctly

If the Imam is not in government he's going to pick all government members and they'll get executed via a coup.

So you have the hardest win condition because you have to make sure you don't pick a rebel every round

I guess it should be more like "take me with you if you want to live"

I'm a plain jane Minor Nobility. Put me in the government and I become a Loyalist. The two town power roles (which is how I'm thinking of them) stay hidden, we have to find one more Minor Nobility to add, you live, we start Day 2 in a good position.

That's basically how I'm thinking this is supposed to play out from a "Town" perspective

ZFR: Commander of the Guard and Judge are NOT present.

They will be chosen by Lift.
OOOOOHHHHH

okay that's cool.

So yeah. Lift only appoints a government once, is that right?

hm.

Not at all. If we were playing mafia and I was mafia, I would still consider mafia "the bad guys" even though that was my side. It's purely a narrative consideration.

There are no "protestants" in government. There are also no starting Loyalists (except Lift).

You can only become a loyalist if you get selected by Lift.

Wait, what?

That's not how I read that

Either part of that

The two loyalist power roles should already exist and Lift stays the Vizier if he picks correctly
I just finished flying over the Amazon in my hang glider. No penguins found.

I'll read what I missed. But to answer some question: it appears there are no bad or good guys in this game. We're all gray. Gray Guys.

We all want power.

Me too! I'll be your other Nobility

but then the numbers don't add up.

"So, as far as I see we have 7 protesters + 1 imam + 2 janissary + vizier Lift. " = 11

and I thought only once because "After the end of the first court session, you must select two players to join your faction."
There are only loyalists or rebels in government. Protesters want the rebels to win, but can become loyalists if recruited into the government.

There are 7 protestors, 1 imam, 2 janissaries, and one vizier right now. The Commander and Judge are appointed government positions.
