Oh, and it’s not a coup. Yes Turkey appears to have been seized by an unknown faction within the military, which is pretty much the exact definition of a coup, but the president assures it is not a coup and we should not use that word. Such distinctions are very important as his regime topples around him. Besides, coup sounds the same as coop, an enclosure for poultry, and if he has to hear one more turkey joke…

Seriously though, interesting turn of events, Erdogan has been in the news recently a lot, recently the German minister supporting their prosecution of someone in Germany. It was one thing factored into the brexit argument that turkey was one lined up for eu membership.

Uh-oh. Thing is getting serious. Even old Bradley is upset, by now. Thing is quickly escalating in civil war. There are reports of civilian skirmishes against soldiers, soldiers and helicopters opening fire and wounding civilians, as well as both Erdogan's and Davutoglou's urging to both civilians and "good" soldiers to fight against the coup. The helicopter is also destroyed by F-16, by now.

Thing won't end well. Even WE, right now, have an order for army and police standby, active presently. Prepare for the worst.
