gog2002x: Fantastic news! I still have my original retail copy, but will definetly buy this when it comes out.

Anyone have an idea when it may be coming out?

HunchBluntley: "Release date" on the store page says September 8.
LOL I didn't even think to look there. I looked everywhere else but there. Thanks.
I started a thread on Steam, on 9th July the day that store page appeared

GOG Release required, for me to buy this again

Stating That I owned the original on Steam, but would get this only if we got a Day 1 release on GOG.
After Metro Exodus delayed the GOG release for a few months after Steam.
If you don't know THQ Nordic own 100% of Deep Silver, so that was a THQ Nordic choice.

I don't believe I instigated this announcement, but regardless, I made a commitment, if we got a day 1 release, and it looks like that is going to happen now.

I will keep my word, and buy the Day 1 release at full price, whatever that may be.

michaliszorzos: Great news!

Are you going to add the original game too, like you did with BioShock series?
THQ Nordic don't own the Originals publishing rights, EA do, so no you won't get that.

Bioshock is owned by 2K, so that publisher chose to release both versions here.

GOG have no say in these decisions, it's up to the publishers.

Never paid much attention to this game, but it does look interesting. Reminds me of Dragon's Dogma.

It's nothing like DDDA, was intended to be a Western Fantasy MMO Franchise, the SPG was intended to help fund that Main Focus.
TLDR is Rhode Island State Goverment invested around $75 million Public Money, Governor panicked, and tried to point blame at Studio head, the political crap basically forced the devs into bankruptcy, as investors pulled out of MMO, which was almost completed.

It came out just after Skyrim, and had no modding support, never got much attention due to that.
THQ Nordic bought rights off Rhode Island in 2018.

While being sort of Generic, basic lore is Fates, and Destiny are already written into the world, but the player is the only one, that is outsde of fate, due to dying and their soul being brought back in prologue which gives them the power to change the destiny of everyone they meet, just by your actions.
The whole legal shennanigans behind publishing rights of this awesome game was such a mess that i didnt even dare to dream about a re-release, let alone a DRM free one !

This one game brings me so many good memories, i spent a lot of time on this game and enjoyed every minute of it... and i sure woulde go back to it as soon as it is released here !

TL;DR: "Shuddup and take my damn munie !"

... yet, the remaster's visuals are shiny and nice... but somehow i miss the stylized cartoony artistic direction of the original one :( well remaster is obviously better than nothing though

It's the same on Steam just fyi.
Well - That's a nice surprise!

I already own the game on Steam, but will buy the game again here on GOG because I really love to have a improved version with all DLC's and (most importantly) a stand-alone installer.

I seen from the commentary her that the original version is removed from the Steam store page, so I am glad I bought the game many years ago and thus still have access to the original version. That said - I think there is no real reason to play that original version if a improved version is available. Still - It's nice to have for "historical reasons".

I am looking forward to this game. There is no release date yet, and I am not sure I can buy the game on the release date (that really depends on the date and the price), but I will buy it for sure as soon as possible.
Oh boy I've been waiting for this one.
Glad I haven't bought the base game yet.
I bought the game on Steam (my first game on Steam, no less) half a year ago because I had given up any hope of ever seeing it on GOG.com, so I guess KoA:R is another game I'm gong to own multiple times. If there one game that's worth it, it's this one.
Make the game harder and I'm sold
Yes, I bought it years ago on Origin. Nice to see another game freed from the clutches of EA!
Interesting, I have the original version in Origin.
Plouging through the reckoning version now on Steam, without the Re-Reckoning bit. The re-mastered version would have to be significantly different for me to invest my time in it. I'm not sure a DLC will cut it. Perhaps in a couple of years when its cheaper depending on how its recieved.

Besides a remaster and all - we do know that once RR is out, there will be eventually the Fatesworn expansion/DLC for it, sometime next year.

If the new content's any good, that could eventually be a reason, at some point, to buy RR Edition so that we can also buy the DLC/expansion later.

If Fatesworn is successful, I do wonder if this Remaster will also get more DLC's/expansions - like say Titan Quest Anniversary did (getting Ragnarok and Atlantis DLC's, so far).
