Get ready for a remake of a classic tactical RPG from Japan – FRONT MISSION 1st: Remake is coming soon to GOG!

In the year 2090, the world's conflicts are fought using giant war machines called Wanzers. Huffman Island, the only place where the Oceania Cooperative Union (O.C.U.) and the Unified Continental States (U.C.S.) share a land border is a hotbed of conflict.

An O.C.U. reconnaissance platoon led by Captain Royd Clive is assigned to investigate a U.C.S. munitions plant. They are ambushed by U.C.S. Wanzers, triggering a series of events that plunges the whole island into war. Royd's fiancée, Lieutenant Karen Meure, goes missing in action.

Discharged from the military, Royd sets out to investigate what happened to Karen. His quest leads him closer and closer to the conspiracy behind the incident and the powers that orchestrated it.

All of it with HD visuals and a modern mode with improved controls – wishlist it now so you won’t miss its release or any special offer!
Awesome!
Cannot wait for the release day!
Nice to see tactical mecha games from clssic series previously being console exclusive...maybe some day Microsoft releaase some of theirs, and whoever own old Mechwarriors.

Maybe some day Etrian Odyssey shows up? Kinda bummer they forced Denuvo for no reasons :< which is not a good news for people starved for Wizardry-like games.

Requirements are curiously low, not even Win10/11 only? Or 30+GB space required? Or 16+ GB RAM? Or 1xxx/2xxx/3xxx GPU?
Western devs have a lot to learn, but they despise Japanese games and their effort put in the developements.

Agreed on the Etrian Odyssey among other DRPGs.
Was expecting more Experience Inc. games tbh.

I played this game on the switch. The graphics are not really good for being a remake. Low Requirements are not surprising at all.

Apparently they screw up and forgot to put Denuvo on the Steam version. I suspect it will be patched very soon sadly but I still find it funny.
This certainly caught me with my pants down. I'll try to get it if I can.
Visually this isn't a patch on the original, looks a little toy-like, even the PS1 sequels have more visual flair.

The expanded PS1 port still doesn't have an English patch so this might be worth a look if they don't overcharge for it.

This ^, and too clean and plasticky looking, to, which I find rather off putting. Graphics are not everything, but they should help with the immersion of the game, and these, don't...
Oh for the love of-

Enough with the remakes already! If you have the capacity to make a game, make something original.

I loved Front Mission to bits -- 28 years ago. Fond as I am of nostalgia, this is overdoing it a bit...

The DS port is in English. How does the PS1 port compare to it?

Oh, derp, I completely forgot about the DS port. Never got around to playing it but I've heard it is essentially the PS1 version. Would rather a classic version I could play full screen though but since you mention it, it seems like it might be a more authentic FM experience than this remake.

Playing the game's classic version full screen is probably a better experience. Emulating the DS version is perhaps the best you will get for the classic English version of the game. It's the way I have been playing it. haha
Funnily enough the only Front Mission related thing I've played was Front Mission Evolved. Never tried the turn based stuff.

Was pretty fun though.
