We often receive questions and messages asking how we are doing as a team, company, store, and platform. That is why we decided to give you a bit more insight into our operations and last year’s results.

Last year was a very challenging time for all of us due to the ongoing global pandemic. Since March 2020, our team continues to work remotely from homes, which is not always easy. Having that in mind, we’re even more proud and happy to share these facts and numbers with you.

Apologies for off-topic but I figure more staff and blues will be watching this thread. Is the purple dot glitch on the forums ever going to be fixed? It is rather annoying coming onto the site and seeing the dot but sure if it is an actual notification or just the glitch.

Also thank you for continuing to support offline installers and please continue to support them in the future, I do see the usage of Galaxy is increasing exponentially but the offline installers are important regardless of this, especially for those of us that use Linux.

Just one criticism: If you're going to provide a single percentage figure representing growth over a 12-month period, don't label it "monthly". As it's a single figure, it's clearly an average for all 12 months; and as a percentage average, it is equally applicable to any interval, including the much more obvious "annual". (Or if I'm wrong, then a better explanation than the one provided would be very helpful.)

That aside... neat!

Yeah, of course data has to be contextualized or else it is "almost" meaningless. But I still appreciate that they even post this data.

zlaywal: Asia only contribute 6% of the sales, wonder why?

pearnon: Goes to show the folly of bending over backwards due to "many messages from gamers".
Sadly not, if they're planning to increase that 6%.
I just wished that the CCP banned them, frankly.

That's all nice, but since most numbers are relativ (+x%), they don't say anything meaningful. Like the Pornhub statistics blog, they use the same technique. Posting numbers without the number they relate to.

GOG, like every other western site that sees lots of traffic, is banned from China. Its very easy to circumvent though.

I'm also sure that the 6 percent of Asians is every country on the continent sans China. It doesn't mean anything as all Chinese users use VPNs.

Unlike Steam, GOG has no Asian regional pricing and no retail/e-commerce gift cards.
What the hell is bilibili?
The bit that surprises me is that the refund rate is as high as 1.39%. Now, I know this may have been skewed by Cyberpunk, but more than 1 in a hundred sales being refunded seems quite high to me.

My perception could be skewed by the fact that I've never refunded a game I've bought online.

FoxTwo: See, 73% prefer SINGLE PLAYER, STORY-DRIVEN GAMES.

That's what I have been saying since the mid-1990s :p
And most GOG users prefer RPGs. :-)

WinterSnowfall: That customer satisfaction rating though... clearly not measured on the forums, that much I can tell you.
This is based on ratings from users that we ask for after solving their support tickets.

Congrats GOG! To me you're the best but I wish you'll fix Cyberpunk and will never do this kind of BS again... oh and don't bend the knee to China...
Nice good to see these figures. Keep up the good work.

Maybe people abusing the system, as unlike on Steam and others you can still keep the game after refund? Although I don't know why would anyone bother instead of just pirate it.

GOG isn't banned from China, and it's unpopular in China.
