Lord_Kane: The fact they added a useless bot to their support system is to me alone not a good sign.
I will never understood why all this hate with this bot ?
You can still easily make a support request in one or two clicks.

But yeah - I'm kinda worry too.
The only thing I'd like to understand are "selling costs". They increased significantly since release of CP2077. I'd like to know why.

Switch Support pages from Russian to English. I think you'll notice the difference while trying to open a ticket.

Time4Tea: I agree that GOG needs to refocus its business on what makes it unique (i.e. DRM-free), and focus less on money-hungry projects like Galaxy.
While I like Galaxy, I think I would prefer a better website (with editable reviews, deleteable games, modern forum, better search engine... etc)... and of course, more quality games, and some niche for people like me :P Imo, Galaxy has been a waste of resources, at least the stores integration, cool but useless, since you need the other clients running.

I dont "hate" the bot, its been useful to me a couple of times, but its a poor solution to what is clearly a personnel issue. one you usually would solve by hiring more people but companies with money issues usually stop hiring.

maybe I am just freaking out and my lack of sleep is getting to me, I dont know anymore.

I think GWENT is more the money sink then Galaxy is, but who knows.

SCPM: Reports are out, revenues are a little up compared with the same quarter last year, but:
"However, despite slight revenue gains year-over-year, the CD Projekt-owned game selling website GOG.com posted a loss of 4 million PLN on revenue of 41.8 million PLN. For context, GOG.com saw 40.5 million in revenue and 130 million in profit for the same period in 2020.
avatar
Time4Tea: How can they have had 130 million profit on 40.5 million in revenue? Are those the wrong way round?
It should be 130 thousand profit on 40.5 million in revenue (so effectively break even).

Q4 results will be most interesting, since that's always where the volume is (won't be nearly as much as last year (since no CP 2077), but should still be 4 times as much revenue as Q3).

SCPM: During a call with investors, a spokesperson for CD Projekt Red described the site's performance "does represent a challenge," and it appears to be making plans to reorganize that end of the business. "
That's very troubling. Does that mean that they want to close the store (I'm a bit paranoid!)? I didn't undertand... I need a clarification

I think if I read SCPM's post right their plan to reorganize is to shift the online development side of GOG, IE. GWENT and Galaxy over to CDPR since they have more money and just focus on selling games, thats if I am reading it right.

I'm using English version of Support & Store pages.
Yeah - I see a bot but it doesn't make any difference for me. Oh well - maybe one more click to create a ticket.

In my book - this bot can be usefull for simple questions & creating some ease for support team 'cause they don't need to answer this simple questions anymore.

Reorganizing a business is not closing a business. Reorganizing can mean anything from streamlining support (see the support bot) or creating an automated refund process, changing the curation, a new hiring process (remote work!), restructuring spending (moving Gwent development/maintenance to CDPR where it belongs), strategic partnerships, restructuring store fees, investments in better infrastructure to create a better user experience, and countless other things...

Well - looks like we just need to wait & see.
As for me - I will keep supporting GOG 'cause this is the best gamestore for me.

It comes somewhat from GOG proudly saying the support was Human. Little things can go a long way

tfishell: imo GOG's main concern should be making sure important updates reach here (not necessarily things like achievements or multiplayer, but crucial patches at least), they may have developed a reputation whereby fewer and fewer people are willing to take a chance with new games. But I may be wrong.
There are several games i've passed buying on gog because of this or lack of mod support (mods being locked to Steam Workshop). Trying to research and keep track of what gog games are not updated is an exhausting chore.
Nothing is forever, back up your games always and enjoy your time posting, playing and buying. :)
