Cyraxpt: Playing The Witcher 3, have some usual bugs that doesn't bother but then it appears the game breaking stuff, doors that doesn't open so i can't continue the game (load a previous save), people that i have to escort die from nothing (load a previous save), a sound glitch on the menu that according to my friend (that have the same problem) will fuck up the ending cutscene with noises and sounds/voices out of plaece.
I wonder if it's different in bugs if you own the game on a different digital platform. My sister bought me the game for Steam, and I have to say I've been playing that game since 20th and never had those bugs you were mentioned, so maybe it's different than GOG. In fact I've never had bugs that broke the game, just your usual bugs, like Roach being stuck on a tree, a drowner flying and almost killed me if it wasn't for my trusty crossbow, some alghouls spawning from nowhere.

Same goes for Dragonfall, which I own it here. Never had that stuttering problem, so it's either that I'm very lucky when it comes to bugs, or you have some troubles with your PC. Even though, I still prefer games like these rather than games like Arkham Knight. Now that game is unplayable, no matter what PC you have.

So I've heard but now that I'm a father my time and interest in vast open world games have taken a major hit :-).

Grargar: What was your version of Paper Sorcerer? The latest one (2.5)? I played and completed the game on 2.3b and while I didn't encounter any such stuff, I did encounter a bug that prevented me from completing one of the side-quests.
It has to be the most recent one since i'm using steam.

W3 is a bit of a glitchfest, I even reported several, so that's to be expected.
But I'd never heard anything about Heavy Bullets or Paper Sorcerer being buggy.. than again it's not like I'm keeping an eye on those games.

As for Paper Sorcerer i'm not even gonna bother, for months that i've been seeing that the game was rough (expected from an indie developer and if i'm not mistaken, only one developer), the game doesn't even have a sound option, something that really is needed considering the awful music.

Cyraxpt: Shadowrun Dragonfall has this problem where the game starts stuttering after completing the first mission, that was never fixed and they're already making Shadowrun Hong Kong...

Pheace: Glad to say my runthroughs of Dragonfall have always been absolutely smooth

Obviously it's an isolated problem otherwise they would be forced to do something about it, still it sucks for those that have to endure it.

SeduceMePlz: Might want to wait for the Director's Cut of Wasteland 2, due out "late summer" iirc. Additions include classic Fallout features (precision strikes, perks & quirks) and more dialogue. Of course it might introduce some new bugs, too...

And Update 2.0 (due soon? "not in the far future") before playing Pillars of Eternity.
True, and there's also the director's cut of D:OS. However, my point was those games are comletely playable as they stand now.

God damn if you weren't right. Decided to play Albedo: Eyes from outter space and what happens? The damn game is too dark.

What it should look like. (from youtube)

What looks like. (on my pc)

The PS3 in all its glorious, glitchy gore. At least half of my PS3 games have annoying, sometimes game breaking bugs. Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim framerate stutter, XCOM freezes, the notorious Mass Effect save upload glitch... god. I'm really getting nostalgic for the PS2 and its lesser graphics and nearly non-existent glitches. Is it just me or are consoles starting to kinda suck?
I'm cursed, i just... sigh... So i've waited all this weeks for the TW3 patch be released so that i can finish the game (i've been waiting for it so that i could avoid the glitch that messes up the sound of the ending cutscene) and what do i get? In the last quest, the final battle, another really important quest that i completed (it's a sidequest but really important for the story, Reason of State) appears as failed. I completed it, it was all done, decisions were made... and it just says that i failed it out of nowhere.

Now i have to wait another 2, 3, 4 weeks for another patch otherwise i'll have a different ending! I mean, seriously? Screw developers and publishers, better to buy games a few months later, it's cheaper and have less bugs...
I normally don't buy new games from release. I usually wait 3 to 4 years after a release. I prefer to play a finished game with all dlc or expansions included in one bundle. Not having to pay pay pay and play a broken game. There are a few exceptions like witcher 3 which was a mistake on my part. But I've learned from that experience.. :) Won't do it again.

Anyhow gamers need more patients and wait years after the release before its even close to finished product. Seems to be the norm now to release beta broken games. As long as player keep supporting this kind of mentality, game companies will continue to release broken products.
Witcher 3 was a special case. We all KNEW and were CERTAIN, that CDPR would keep patching, fixing and supporting it. 2 was for years after release, at least. There wasn't the tiniest hint of doubt on this. Also, if we didn't preorder 3, we would have lost for good, the GOG preorder-exclusive bonuses, which cannot be claimed elsewhere or otherwise.

Expansion passes were a strange pull, though, fishy looking at first too, but as soon as i saw the main game is once again a masterpiece, i am certainly going to get those, too.

Now, with 1.07 patch, things are much better. A lot of new features and content has been added already, even if only from the patch itself. Which also did some magic with graphics/performance; now my pc can run it much better than before, actually!

This game will not be broken anymore! Can't wait for the last 2 DLC, so i can start playing seriously to beat it.

Game is still broken. LOD issue still there. Smaller bugs like guys carring boxes who walk funny are still there. Shadows loading before your eyes. :P Certain merchants aren't able to have dialog with.. Eventually you maybe right it will be fix.. But at the moment its still broken, but getting better true.
Broken games are one of the four reasons why I never (I mean usually) don’t buy games on release but wait until all or most of the issues have been fixed and patched.

The other three reasons are a huge fall in price after 2+ years, being able to play the game with all available expansions and DLCs, and not having to upgrade my system every 6 months to play the latest hardware-choking graphics revolution.
Buggy games are just part and parcel of gaming, and of computer software in general.
I have been playing Quake 2 the last three weeks and there have been several graphical bugs (seeing through walls I should not), and one occurrence of the game freezing.
Back when games were thoroughly tested before release we still got bugs, now games are released and patched up after it is in the players hands, we just notice how many a game can ship as "Gold" with. We are now paying "top dollar" to do our dream jobs, Games Testers.

Witcher 3 is admittedly a buggy, but good game. I have dropped it until all is released next year. But what were the lost pre-order bonuses?

Something with paper toys (a catalog)? Some exclusive soundtrack pieces (4?)? And one or two things i currently don't remember, because they fused with normal goods upon release... Also, when preordered in early stage of announcement, you got 2 games worth 5.99 euros for free (i got vampire redemption and undying), plus the neverwinter nights and the comic. There was some issues, though; in order to read the comic you had to make an account in some other webpage and that comic was only the first of the four volumes, you had to buy the other ones yourself if you wanted it complete. For me, the worst was that damn strategy guide. Instead of offering it free on GOG shelf of the game, as per BOTH previous titles, they MONETIZED it, partnered with Prima so as their firm would appear instead of them and sold it pretty expensively, too (30 euros upon launch). This one, sorry, but i "redistributed" to me for free and even advices others to do so. It was a cheap under the belt move.
