Playing The Witcher 3, have some usual bugs that doesn't bother but then it appears the game breaking stuff, doors that doesn't open so i can't continue the game (load a previous save), people that i have to escort die from nothing (load a previous save), a sound glitch on the menu that according to my friend (that have the same problem) will fuck up the ending cutscene with noises and sounds/voices out of plaece.

God damn if this isn't getting annoying, started playing Heavy Bullets and the damn game has some stuttering from time to time, considering that there will be some moments where fast enemies will rush towards you it's really a big deal.

Well, moving on, started playing Paper Sorcerer, really enjoying the game until i get to a part where i can acess different stuff, including a merchant, i buy the usual stuff (weapons, armor, etc) and i have to go to my room to equip it... Press the menu button and... it's bugged. I can't leave the menu, i can't leave the game, can't do nothing, i have to use alt+f4 and continue from the last moment that i saved the game.
The worst part is that i'm not the only one and the problem will appear again with me having to repeat some of the stuff that i did previously.
Put it on ice! Sooner or later, patches and fixes will do it... I myself dropped it until all DLC and season passes are going to be released fully.

Great game and all. But many bugs. And the bugs they actually fix (exploits for easy money, really) are useful and even desired by some players to exist. Wrong priorities to fixes, as usual... But they are going to address all issues, eventually. 2 had patches done years after release.

Well, there's 2 problems with that:

a) In some cases it take months to fix the game, i don't like starting a game and stop for a long time, i end up forgetting everything that was going on (story and how to play) therefore i don't get in the mood to return to the game.

b) Sometimes they never do, today i had to snitch to Devolver Digital that the game they published (Heavy Bullets) had problems and the dev wasn't showing up in the forums, less than an hour later he appears apologizing and saying that he doesn't know how to fix but he will try.
Shadowrun Dragonfall has this problem where the game starts stuttering after completing the first mission, that was never fixed and they're already making Shadowrun Hong Kong...

Obviously that with The Witcher 3 they are going to fix it and i'm waiting for the next patch so that i can finish the game.
It can't be helped, though. Open world type of games create a lot more bugs than your typical game. At launch there were many and ridiculous horse related bugs among others, for example.

Other than the bags, though, it's a very nice game and all. And they even corrected the no XP received from quests that were designed for much lower level character than the one you are when completing them!

I didn't read the full post (gasp), but yeah: new, big, complex, multi-pathed RPG = DO NOT PLAY upon release, IMO, You're just asking for a headache of bugs. Wait for 2 or 3 patches at least, always. Specifically for The Witcher 3, you probably just want to skip playing the POS altogether. Now is your chance to get your money back before it is too late!
I have put aside Wasteland 2, PoE and Divinity:OS. Waiting for the patching to be done, content released, etc. Plenty of stuff in my backlog. So, no problems. Right now, i'm torn by Beyond Good and Evil ( a pain to make it work, took me a day until i compiled the stuff from the specific forum). Solid story, nice characters, but the minigames and the QTE are killing me... What can i say...Too old for those?!:)

All three of those games are able to be played through to the end without fear of egregious bugs. If you want to play them, go for it. I've played through WL2 several times, D:OS once and PoE once (the latter two with a number of incomplete runs) and had no majpr issues.

(See title of this thread and figure it out)
I know the feeling.

I was gifted Wasteland 2 (shortly after availability here on GOG), and really want to play it; but I tried a few times, an after awhile (like 20 minutes or so), my PC will reboot while I'm playing it. No other game is doing that.

Tried searching around the net at that time, and had only found one other person reporting that - and no solutions proffered. I did the usuals: update graphics driver, re-install on my HD (was on the SSD); and it still did it. So..

So I've put it aside for now. Haven't looked at it or the issue in awhile - so maybe there's a patch or solution. But atm I've plenty of other games and things to which to give attention, and haven't been arsed to re-check into it yet.

But.. I'd really like to play it someday. It was looking good, except for that :)
I played the entire Red Dead Redemption on release without one bug. Rockstar respect.

What was your version of Paper Sorcerer? The latest one (2.5)? I played and completed the game on 2.3b and while I didn't encounter any such stuff, I did encounter a bug that prevented me from completing one of the side-quests.

Might want to wait for the Director's Cut of Wasteland 2, due out "late summer" iirc. Additions include classic Fallout features (precision strikes, perks & quirks) and more dialogue. Of course it might introduce some new bugs, too...

And Update 2.0 (due soon? "not in the far future") before playing Pillars of Eternity.

You might be the unluckiest gamer of the year.
W3 is a bit of a glitchfest, I even reported several, so that's to be expected.
But I'd never heard anything about Heavy Bullets or Paper Sorcerer being buggy.. than again it's not like I'm keeping an eye on those games.

Glad to say my runthroughs of Dragonfall have always been absolutely smooth
