The DRM-free initiative.

We've always been on a mission to offer you games with no DRM protection whatsoever. Today, we want to start taking things a step further, help out people who bought a retail game with DRM, then ended up stuck with something rather unplayable. We can help you enjoy your favorites once again, and this time around, enjoy them DRM-free!

There are countless retail games out there that don’t work for various reasons: unsupported types of DRM, system incompatibilities, broken features. There's too many too count. Starting today, owners of several retail titles originally sold with DRM can get a digital copy of their game completely free at GOG.com: with no DRM as always, compatible with modern operating systems, and with plenty of goodies to boot.
Reclaim these games, DRM-FREE:

Editions released worldwide:
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

Editions released only in CIS & Russian territories:
-Mount & Blade: Warband
-Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword
-Eador: Genesis

To reclaim your game, just use one of the keys that came with your box. You can find more detailed information on the Reclaim your games, DRM-FREE! page to see if your key is compatible and just where to go from there.

This is just the start of something much bigger. We plan to add more titles to the list in the future - it's a long and complicated process that involves negotiating with multiple parties and a scavenger hunt to retrieve forgotten key-databases - but then, we are on a mission here, we'll do whatever it takes.

SlyryD: Would love this for Battle for Middle-earth! Just unsuccessfully tried to install it...
That one will never happen, unfortunately. It was a messy copyright/trademark deal that expired. So nobody can sell it ever again. Well, until 70 years after every copyright holder has died.

I have part 1 on DVD and I don't remember a problem installing it, but it's been a while. I just recently picked up part 2 for XBOX 360 b/c I've really wanted to play it, but it's insane expensive on PC now.

exe3: Hopefully you can get Star Wars Empire at War Gold up there. Steam won't accept my CD keys sadly and I recently wanted to play the game again but I was too lazy and couldn't be bothered pulling out the discs (I know where they are and everything, but just too lazy >_< ). D:
My Steam version quit working with multiplayer. I'm hoping GOG's gets the Galaxy treatment soon. Then I'll buy a GOG copy.

As it is, I've bought 2 retail copies and 3 digital copies of that game so far. It'd be nice not to buy a 4th digital, but if it gets the GOG treatment, I will. :)

My SOC & COP keys worked just fine, but my Clear Sky key wont work.

Gamersgate lists the game as being DRM free already and the key they list says "steam activation key." Now I haven't even logged into my Gamersgate account since 2011 ..... but it is kind of weird fuckery IMO; I know when I bought it, it didn't have a steam key with it & it wasn't DRM free.

The really weird part is that I bought Clear Sky & COP at the same time on Gamersgate.
CD KEY for STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl doesn't work for me. I have a Steam version and I've copied my CD KEY from the registry. But it says that it's invalid.

The other two work fine. Hm, that's weird...
I got a Mount & Blade collection box and it is not working.

Mount&Blade can be reedemed only by russian speaking users which is stated on the game redeem site.

Wow, this is insane... Essentially gog is helping people who did not care about DRM and bought protected media? O_o
Let's put this in bold:

The Mount and Blade games and Eador: Genesis keys are working only for the people from the Russian Federation.

World wide retail keys are only for the Stalker games.

This I can agree with.
Anyone wanting STALKER : Shadow of Chernobyl can trade me for an equal title =D

or a few titles = to SoC

Looking for SPAZ primarily.

deja65: And i cant even find my steam key for Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl, really weird

amok: It don't have a CD key
....funny....my key for it worked fine ;)
(dunno if you were corrected on this matter or not)
i've noticed that folks with steam keys are having varying combinations of success with getting the stalker games on gog, reading about gog acquiring old databases make me wonder if it is the purchase date of the steam versions that makes the difference, in my case:

SoC purchased on steam 21 dev 2008 - no success on gog
CoP, purchased on steam 5 july 2011 - success on gog
CS, purchased on steam 5 july 2011 - success on gog

i throw this out there in case it sheds some light, of course if anyone purchased SoC on steam when i did and had success on gog that would be useful to know as well :)

SoC - 4th of jan 2013
CS - 2nd of jan 2013
CoP - 2nd of jan 2013

All invalid.
For me, only Shadow of Chernobyl doesn't work. Clear Sky and Call od Prypiat worked fine. Either database GOG got is incomplete or Steam was selling out codes that vary from online to retail codes on the random. Which is dumb now that I have 2 games on GOG, but can't have the first one. Ugh.
