Big Fish Games is now accepting Bitcoin payments
I must say I am also rather against bitcoin as a payment method and I am also very skeptical when sites offer this option... I much prefer the paysafecard or other more legitimate forms of payment!
And quite unexpectedly Groupees started to accept Bitcoin
So, Humble, Groupees...maybe GOG really should consider it?
BitCoin: a measurement of wasted energy that could maybe have been used for something more productive but was instead for absolutely nothing other than burning because it could be burned.

I think GOG would be better off accepting data from Folding@home.

Thanks, I didn't know that.

I have to say that I lost my trust in bitcoin once I realised that it can't be a currency (due to being inherently unstable), because it will lose all its benefits if it becomes legal, and because it's no longer "in the hand of the people" due to needing special hardware to mine. I still don't mind seeing it as a means of payment at various sites. It's a good way to get rid of the little mBTC I have left. (I do think that the bubble can still grow.)
So, Microsoft accepts bitcoin now for xbox and windows games. When is gog.com accepting it?

Bitcoin Payments Prove a Sales Success for Green Man Gaming

“Since launching bitcoin as an option a month ago, we immediately saw transactions being made. During the first weekend of our holiday sale, we saw our highest day of money paid with bitcoin reach 5%, with the most popular Green Man Gaming purchase from bitcoin customers being the Valve Complete Pack [which costs 89.99 euro!].”

Since GOG seems to be unwilling to implement bitcoin payments ever. I hope they don't mind me telling people where else they can buy their games through bitcoin.

MIcrosoft

Steam (from Steamloader)

Humble Bundle/Humble Store

The above mentioned Green Man Gaming.

Seriously, is there ANY online game store except GOG which doesn't accept bitcoin payments yet?

Most of them, I'd say. Steam, for example. Steamloader certainly isn't "Steam accepting bitcoin" any more than a bitcoin to PayPal service would be "GOG accepting bitcoin".
If there were a gogloader through which I could buy games on gog, it would be the same for me as gog accepting bitcoin. But I don't know of any such website.

And why did you choose to ignore Microsoft, Humble Store, etc, and only commented about Steam?

You mean to ask why I chose not to mention Origin, GamersGate, Direct2Drive, Ubi, etc.? Oversight. Perhaps I thought you were exaggerating and not oblivious.

You can buy Origin and Ubi games with bitcoin - https://www.bit-keys.com
You can't buy Direct2Drive and GamersGate games with bitcoin though, true.

Maybe I was a bit exaggerating, but you missed the point.

1. You don't need to even touch bitcoin the currency, so there is zero volatility risk. You can accept payments in USD/EUR/GBP/etc through the bitcoin payment network, the difference from credit cards being that accepting payments through bitcoin is free and without possibility for fraudulent chargebacks (which is especially important for someone who sells DRM-free games).
2. Those stores that do accept it, see an increase in their revenue.
3. Average order payed for with bitcoin is much higher than average order payed for using other methods.
4. Even the laggards like Microsoft have already started accepting it.

GMG didn't say anything about making more money because they accept Bitcoin now. They only said that at one day 5% of all purchases were made with Bitcoin. That's a huge difference! Maybe 100% of those 5% would have paid with credit card if Bitcoin wasn't a payment option? I would pay at GMG with Bitcoin too (if I had any Bitcoins), because it would be the only place where I could use it (I don't use any Microsoft services, Wordpress or whatever)! You can't spent this fun money for anything useful. Speaking for myself, it would be incredibly hard to get rid of it oO

So basically there are third party services for several stores. That;s certainly different than the stores accepting bitcoin. Perhaps what you want to advocate is sales of GOG keys. I know a lot of people want that..
