Here's some PC games, that were not already mentioned that, I played off the top of my head.

HURL - such a cheesy kid friendly FPS, that it's actually entertaining.

Brutal: Paws of Fury - Started out with ideas from SSF2T clone and stopped there. It has keyboard thumping hard unfair AI and it's so cheaply made it's laughable, and yet it has a little charm to it.

Mortal Kombat 4 - I remember when it first came out, people were saying "wow! so violent...so realistic..amazing graphics!" but it didn't age well at all. I only go back to it occasionally for a good laugh.

F4LL0UT: Chaos Legion. A seemingly universally disliked slasher game from Capcom in the vein of the Devil May Cry series. Each review I've seen of it was awful and yet it was one of the best and most addictive gameplay experiences I've ever had. Loved both the gameplay and the unique setting.
Yep, i agree. Chaos Legion is a great game. It's installed on my PC so thanks for reminding me that i should play through it some time. :D

This is one of the few games i would rebuy on GOG although i already own a retail copy.
I just thought of another one: Final Fantasy 2, which I enjoyed despite horrible game balance. (Hint: Heavy armor is worse than useless.)

The original SaGa (Final Fantasy Legend) is a fun (but short) game despite all of the bugs in the combat system (like the one that makes SAW only work when it's not supposed to).)

R8V9F5A2: Dark Messiah of Might and Magic - I thought the level design was awesome and the combat very fun
That game was awesome. Certainly overlooked and not really remembered but it rated quite well by audiances and critics when it came out.

tinyE: Tomb Raider: AoD

The game was shit beyond shit times infinity, and I loved every second of it. :P
AOD is the secret ingrediant used in Lamesauce
Invisible War and Unreal 2.
Maybe because I had low expectations I enjoyed them enough to finish them.

Really? Dark Messiah was considered a terrible game? Maybe you are confusing it with Crusaders of Might&Magic.
Anyway I thought it was excellent. Cliche story and poor VA, but excellent atmosphere, level design and combat.

Yeah we didn't really see fps sword combat that well done until dishonored tbh.

I just remembered Enter The Matrix whilst watching Nerd3. I loved that game and played it all the time when it came out. I actually pre ordered it (one of only 3 games I ever pre ordered).

It is a rough game, it looks and plays like an Alpha. Parts are extremely wonkey bordering on broken. The environments are especially bland.

But I loved it and played endlessly. I'd pick it up again for sure.
Fable: The Lost Chapters is a game which I really can't say much good about, but absolutely loved in practice despite it being a very broken game. Sadly, the sequels seemed to lose the charm, but kept the brokeness.

The Star Wars eIII: Revenge of the Sith video game is gamer's the equivalent of a B-movie that's just so enjoyable, despite being absolutely horrible. A pity that the multiplayer was broken and unbalanced, it could have served as the basis for a great fighter...

Although as for a game I believe is underrated, but genuinely amazing, I'd have to say Samurai Warriors: Chronicles. Chronicles fixes all the minor complaints I had about older games in the series, and just added so much to it; it's a wonderfully written plot (yes, I realize it's somewhat based off historical context, but that doesn't mean writing isn't important in telling it) that gives a great deal of development and personality to every character, and due to the change in the way the story was handled, it allowed for a much more coherent telling of the war than previous games allowed for.
Currently, my choice is Star Trek (2013). It was derided by critics, yet a lot of people on steam seem to like it, judging by reviews and forum posts. I also like it, because it FEELS like i'm in a movie (it helps they got the cast of the new films, as well as similar sounding music). Plus, the fact that it gives me the option to take down enemies without killing them gives them an A+ in my book (any game that allows you to be a good guy even with violence is a good game).
Blood Knights.

So many reviews for it are basically "I loved it, but it's terrible." And it is in so many ways. But it's also awesome in so many ways. It's the kind of game where you can't help but shake your head at all of the flaws while simultaneously being amazed by how much fun you're having regardless of said flaws.
Duke Nukem Forever.

ReynardFox: Duke Nukem Forever.
I have to admit the kitchen level was awesome fun, but only the kitchen level :P
Candy Crush Saga

It is terrible as a _game_ (really more about luck than skill and retrying until you finally succeed by a series of strokes of luck), but I still sometimes play it on my wife's phone at least if there is no other option and I am bored.

I am proud of my wife though that she still hasn't used a dime for that game. If she has to wait to play again, she will.

Can't think of any that were actually deemed "terrible" and hated by others. But I enjoyed quite a few games that received mixed reviews and were generally perceived as flawed or somewhat mediocre like Remember Me, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Avencast: Rise of the Mage, Demonicon, Venetica, The First Templar, How to Survive, Blood Knights, Woolfe - The Red Hood Diaries (to varying degrees). On the third try, also Two Worlds, even though the beginning is pretty terrible (and I found the German voiceovers more fun than the English ones). Not that I'd really disagree with any of the criticism these games received, it's just that it didn't bother me enough in most cases and that I was able to look past their flaws and appreciate the nice things about them, or just have some pure mindless fun with them.

Well, come to think of it, I guess I did like some games that were really hated by some, but those are games that polarized and were also loved by many others (e.g. Bioshock Infinite, Mass Effect 3), and partially probably hated precisely because of their (allegedly undeserved) popularity, too.

Mercenaries 2 on Xbox 360, it had terrible critics, but I absolutely love it.
