One of the most anticipated releases of this year is now available on GOG in its full glory – Baldur’s Gate 3 from Larian Studios. The time has come to gather your party, and return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power.

Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade is also available in our catalog. Remember that if you’ve purchased the game during its early access, you will get the Upgrade for free!

After more than 20 years you once again immerse yourself in one of the most iconic series of video games and embark on the grand RPG adventure that is here to redefine the genre, just like the original entry did all those years ago.

Prepare for the expansive and original story, a vast, detailed and diverse world, a grand, cinematic narrative, great character customization, evolved, turn-based combat based on the D&D 5e ruleset, and just so much more. Prepare for Baldur’s Gate 3!

In the third entry of this iconic series, mysterious abilities are awakening inside you, drawn from a Mind Flayer parasite planted in your brain. You are turning into a monster, but as the corruption inside you grows, so does your power. That power may help you to survive, but there will be a price to pay, and more than any ability, the bonds of trust that you build within your party could be your greatest strength.

You’ll choose from a wide selection of D&D races and classes, or play as an origin character with a hand-crafted background. Adventure, loot, battle and romance as you journey through the Forgotten Realms and beyond. Play alone, and select your companions carefully, or as a party of up to four in multiplayer.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is truly a next generation RPG. Forged with the new Divinity 4.0 engine, it gives you unprecedented freedom to explore, experiment, and interact with a world that reacts to your choices. A grand, cinematic narrative brings you closer to your characters than ever before, as you venture through Larian’s biggest world yet.

The Forgotten Realms are as alive as they’ve never been, filled with detail and secrets to discover. Here, no adventure will ever be the same, and how you survive, and what mark you leave on the world, is up to you.

Of course, such a grand release is bound to completely overtake our gaming sessions. That’s why we’d like to invite you to join not one, not two, but seven Baldur’s Gate 3 streams on our Twitch Channel! Some of them will include a multiplayer adventure, here’s a schedule:

Thursday, August 3rd, 8 PM UTC, NoodleBeefNoodle
Friday, August 4th, 7 PM UTC, Multiplayer: KaurTube and Marc
Saturday, August 5th, 1 AM UTC, LovelustGames
Saturday, August 4th, 12 PM UTC, Multiplayer: Inanda and her son RockAndRollNerd
Sunday, August 6th, 11am UTC, KingArgaroth
Sunday, August 6th, 5 PM UTC, Multiplayer: DarkSaber2k and Piranjade
Monday, August 7th, 9 PM UTC, Kaurtube

See you in the chat!

Prepare for an unforgettable adventure no matter if you’re a series veteran, a complete newcomer, an RPG lover or somebody who wants to try out the genre for the first time. Baldur’s Gate 3 will most likely steal your heart and provide hundreds of hours of fun.

It`s OK, I am Patient Child ; ) Thanks and Good Luck!

SargonAelther: Do GOG users get the Twitch drop or not?
avatar
Piranka: Everything is set up for Twitch drops, so it should work. :)
Thank you for confirming. It's nice not being secondary to Steam for once when it comes to 3rd party promotional content, so good job Larian and GOG!

Obviously the best option would have been to have offline installers for the Camp Clothing Set, but having feature and promotional content parity is rare, so I will not complain about the delivery method this time. I'll update this post to confirm if / once I've successfully unlocked and redeemed the Twitch drop.

===================================================================================================

I can now confirm that Twitch Drops do indeed work with the GOG version and I have successfully claimed them.

For posterity (as forum posts don't report post times)

This was 3 hours (plus or minus some minutes) after the release.

Apparently it rather was 80 ish minutes @lupine (Clownski was a bit late with the announcment as it seems). As of 8:20pm here (3 hours 20 min after release) the second quoted post shows as 2 hours ago for me (the offline available post fromm mannefriedrich).

From the latest Larian email Newsletter:
" We’re also targeting September 6 for Mac (via Steam, GOG, GeForce NOW) — to be confirmed."

Could be wrong but if I recall correctly the Mac version is arriving at a later date, only Windoze for now.
Basically what teceem said.

Anyone wondering about the alleged SSD requirement - looks like it's actually more of a recommendation than anything else.
Maybe it's a tad snappier on a SSD, but Baldur's Gate 3 boots up, runs, saves, loads and basically functions just as expected, and despite not meeting this particular requirement.

Mori_Yuki: Please read my reply to better33. It wasn't meant to be taken literally; it was sarcasm. It isn't about the waiting time, not that there is any other choice but to wait, but having paid good money for a product many of us should have received at a certain date and time. If it was a technical error I would be the last person to complain - it can happen; since this wasn't the case I can't find it in me to accept an apology. They knew the date and time of release yet they only managed to service client users... That's just not what I expect or must accept or even excuse because 'it's just a game' or 'not a matter of life-or-death.'

Breja: Fair enough, you're not wrong. It's just that I tend to get games literally years after the fact, I don't really understand the need to play something immediately, to get games at release and all that hype. But again, you're right, and it's indeed not acceptable for the non-Galaxy isers to be treated as an afterthought like that.
Thanks for your understanding. I really appreciate it. The sole reason for leaving this snide comment was that, to me, it felt like a disappointment and a letdown. Adding to that, there were many small and large incidents in the past couple of months alone, so that this has become the proverbial icing on the cake. The excitement and feeling of joy about the imminent release and the prospect of being able to download it from GOG and play it at the same time as customers on Steam, Epic, and Larian's store could were certainly major contributors to my turning sour. Lastly, from a store I appreciate and like doing business with, despite its faults, shortcomings, and the great many things and opportunities they miss to improve, I expect better.

To end this on a positive note, GOG administrators reacted and posted about the situation instead of keeping quiet, and the files have finally become available for the rest of us. So, 過去のことは水に流せ, and let's have fun with a possibly very good game. With this, I wish you and everyone else a pleasant night or a successful day. And come tomorrow, I hope to be ready for a very long and memorable journey.
I'm no sure why we still need the version number during game play.
