DreamedArtist: Yeah I dusted off my old origin account and picked up the whole bundle pack and felt good so damage is done.
Maybe.... you could have paid nothing, and gotten your fix? OpenRA is suppose to be really good, although doesn't have the FMV, but will contain some of the campaign missions.ZocomMAX

DreamedArtist: 8 maps
1 faction
skirmish
online mode
thats pretty much it for the lot you pay
but pros are it runs like butter and plays like old C&C Games that is it nothing more.
skip it for now
3 weeks have passed and we have: 1 faction
skirmish
online mode
thats pretty much it for the lot you pay
but pros are it runs like butter and plays like old C&C Games that is it nothing more.
skip it for now
- 11 maps (it was 10 at start, not 8)
- 2nd faction is launching on Beta this week, and fantasy faction is currently being worked on
- 9 huge patches already released (devs are releasing patches few times a week!)
- awesome attitude towards players - they're actually introducing players' ideas!
I don't remember any (indie) developer that was so active at developing game after release. It's totally worth buying :)

Hm, I can't agree. The game has full single player campaign, co-op, multiplayer, no significant bugs - it's being developed but in players' way. It's a proper, completed product, yet it's growing bigger - I don't see why it should be classified as In Dev. It's not like it's missing anything.

HunchBluntley: Still, it probably should've been an In Dev title, rather than calling it a full release.

When this new faction that comes out gives some challenge then cool I might dig in on it but we need more MOOAARR! :)
totalbiscuit in his Video is right with some stuff, but It should be released later with that new content they are making now and wait to release it. and I know many will agree with me on this. Even GOG support agreed with my detailed email saying why this game should be early access "FOR NOW"and gave me a refund on this game.
NOTE: I will purchase this game again BUT I want to see within a half year down the road when they actually make this a game worth it, Hell i would even fork 50 bucks if the game has some KICKASS content. For now a $20 C&C decade pack on origin is worth more then this atm.

Please compare Risk of Rain updates with 8-bit Armies updates (I put the changelog on pastebin in order to see them all in one place) - the amount of things that got improved is massive.
I don't know why you insist calling the game incomplete. It provides dozens of hours of (fun!) gameplay. E.g. A Bird Story can be completed within an hour (1,5 hrs max) and no one says it's unfinished...
What's more, I doubt GOG granted you a refund because 'they agreed it's an incomplete product'. You're a customer and they have a right to grant a refund if you insist on it. Anyway, I'm just surprised the pesimist perspective from the first impression made you write the thread about how people should avoid this game.
But it's your right to do so and I'll keep on encouraging GOGers to buy it :-)

I think as a rule, I'd rather wait and just buy the game with all of the features included already. Otherwise the game risks feeling 'lacking' rather than incomplete. That said, I love the look of this game and will probably pick it up soon.
