Japan, what else......

(probably NSFW for some people....)
Porn is the only thing that VR with "revolutionize". I'm hoping for some Japanese dating sim for Oculus where you date a high-schooler.
There was one at least a year ago and I think something called the Tenga was even showcased two years ago.
Not just the Times, the Guardian covered it too. ;)

Is that what happens if I click that link? I don't really want Asian transvehicular neo-puppets attempting to lubricate my brain with their transparent 7-deadly-sins tentacles. I'm afraid, Dave. I'm afraid.
There is no good reason to ridicule the Oculus. It makes no sense to ridicule progress when it comes to technology that will entertain us, simply because of what some Japanese guys are doing. What goes on in Japan is simply what goes on in Japan. They live in a different world.
If VR ever becomes big it is because porn will drive it.
I'd given this thought.

Now of course you could easily make 3d models, and get an erotic experience but looking into another project I'd come (cum ooe err) across a different solution.

I was looking at creating a 3D Objects from a 3D films, being able to move an look under (but not behind) part of the 3D film.

This led to me looking at voxel movies.

voxel porn would be interesting but difficult due to where bodies and cameras are.
...what do you people think drove adoption of both VHS and DVD? Just Hollywood? The porn industry is always on the bleeding edge of technology, and has been already establishing both POV/3D and even flirting with remote toys controlled by other people and holographic content. VR sounds like the perfect opportunity to tie all those things together in a nice convenient package to me.

I'm sure it could revolutionize sex. Just imagine looking down and seeing a 3ft long wang.

Or a head's up display to give you the various angles and forces you should be applying.

And, let's not forget about achievements.

Or her name, lest you forget.

The possibilities are limitless.

My problem isn't with VR porn, it's what porn will be by the time we get VR porn. I'm not entirely sure I could get aroused by interacting with a human toaster dressed up like a frog in a karate uniform.

They say the future is what it is because it doesn't need us. If the future means alien sex with furniture, I say let them have it, good sir.
For a short time it may be fun gaming with that thing. But can you imagine yourself wearing it for several hours?
Don't forget those of us with less perfect eyesight.

The technology is great and in some years a working version will hit the shops.

But for now I am more interested in the professional working with VR. Look how much more easy it is to create new
models (and with the help of 3D printers the work of weeks if not months is done in days).
Or the us in surgery.
No atm not for gaming imo

Hololens, not Oculus for that. You did see the Minecraft Hololens demonstration at E3, didn't you?

This.
People have no idea where home video, online banking, video streaming services and the internet in general would be without porn.
Sex sells, sex drives and in the end sex will win out. Just remember all those people paying to buy DVD's to "enjoy", would then move over to buying interactive "movies".

JMich: snip
Nope.
All of that is only working with a crutch. Sure with it and including something like Kinnekt it's entertaining.
What I watched were some interesting interviews about the future of VR. The real icing was about future
real 3D television...without goggles.
Sounds unrealistic? 10 years ago who thought that something like Google Cars could be done?
