Quite the opposite, actually. I don't really know rtcvb32 and what's going on between the two of you in other threads, but in this thread your comment put a spotlight on your beef. To everyone who doesn't know your story, it seems quite uncalled for, as rtcvb32's comment was on topic, not the slightest bit aggressive and not even in disagreement with you. If you're convinced that rtcvb32 is just a troll, just stop the feeding, please!

Point taken. Okay.

GioVio123: Has someone lived the experience of playing FPS with friends for more than 4 years and never get gud? I am tired of playing COD:WAW with never progressing on somethings besides my fear tactics to get a chance to win, in either Battlefield, TF2, Insurgency, Counter Strike, I never seem to grow out the similar mechanics they share with different types of playstyle and get good on just one.

I am gonna stay with my fighting games at least in those I can learn faster to the point of actually understanding what I have to do.
Same here. My reaction time is very bad in fast-paced FPS games, there's simply too much going on in the screen for me. I seem to never get good at them. I do much better in slow-paced FPS games like Operations Flashpoint of Rainbow Six, where there's less distracting things on the screen.

Yeah, I got it! I changed my reply to you. Calm down! I see the error of my ways! XD

Leroux: ...

Also, maybe, Dark Souls. People keep telling me how good it is once you understand how it works, and how interesting the setting is etc., and I want to believe them, but personally I only see all the repetition from being set back to earlier checkpoints after dying in boss battles and having to run through the same corridors and to watch the same cutscenes over and over again. Not for me.

...
That reminds of something someone once told me after I disclosed to him that I only got bored playing Dark Souls:
' you need to watch X's videos where he explains the game, if you understand the game you will enjoy it'.

What is there to explain if you think the game is tedious or boring ?! As if understanding "the mystery of the game", that are just guesses anyway, will somehow transform the gameplay into something meaningful (to you).

Hello:)
I despise "bullet hell" games.
I only like a few shoot 'em up but they don't throw at you a bajillion of orbs of bright colors that hurt my eyes. I just can't keep track of them and usually, you have to move around them with a very specific series of inputs. I just don't have the mindset for that kind of game.

But I remember one of the bosses (can't remember the game) shot bullets and missiles behind him even though I couldn't go there without getting killed and that I could only shoot straight made me chuckle :)

What like Commando or Gradius?

I'm going back a little but that's what came to mind when I read your post.

More like Ikaruga. Never played Commando and played the first two Gradius, there are pretty fun.

I have not played FPS multiplayer since way, waaay back in the days of internet cafes, playing Battlefield 1942 and MOH Breathrough. I was always the guy with a lot of kills and an insane number of deaths :D Then again the way we were playing it would probably make any serious FPS multi player of today have a seisure. No tactics, no teamwork, just free for all mayhem and goofing around. Good times :D

Leroux: And Blackguards. I want to play it and enjoy it, but the odds seem so unfairly stacked against the player, most of the times spells misfire despite good hit chances, and I don't understand whether it's a flaw of the game or my lack of knowledge about how the game actually works.
I enjoyed Blackguards a lot, but the luck factor was terribly frustrating at times. It's a thing that can work great in a tabletop RPG, but should not be kept as a significant factor in single player video game. Eventually I gave up and for the last two fights I lowered the difficulty. I felt kinda bad about it, but I tried the second-to-last fight like twenty times to get it right, and when I was finally close to winning... the game froze on me. After that I just didn't have the patience, and just wante to finish it :D Not to mention, the final fight is impossible on anything but easy, unless your character has ranged attack.

I already gave up during that fight very early in the beginning where you have a limited number of rounds to save someone, like only 3 or 5. In that scenario, if a single spell misfires you can almost start over again. Even worse if the game told you the spell would succeed with a chance of over 75% or so and it only works every 3 or 4 tries. :/

Any and all games that employ team tactics and platformers. dont have the patience for it
Console games, in general.

I left console gaming with the PSX, that was basically my last console. Since then, the consoles have seen FPS, third person shooters and the like with controls that to me only make sense with a mouse. This stick-as-mouse nonsense has never clicked with me. When I play on the PS3 at a friend's house, I suck major balls at everything.

Also QTEs, but that's more of an instinctive suck. :)
