The finishers in Mortal Kombat are definitly just there to show the danger of the combat and not as a visual reward for those who manage to execute them. They enhance the gameplay significantly.

Honestly, I think that game is hilarious (you are literally trying to 'pacify' a world full of monster girls in heat with your 'instrument', all in old-school pixelated art) and I think its fun to figure out all the creative ways they imagined you could have sex with non-human girls. Honestly though, I kind of wish they had a fast-forward for the sex scenes, because by the 20th+ time you've seen the same scene with the same kind of monster, it has gotten really old.

Of course, some people would get upset at the game for various reasons, but the fact that it so openly mocks social etiquette and go into pretty absurd places, all in a goofy rather self-deprecating way is precisely what makes it funny for me.

Games that are snuffy in design are different from games that simply use it to punctuate the action.
Let me give you an example.

Games such as Chiller 1986 are snuff because all you do is kill people and there is no fighting back. This is because torture is the point. You're not here to battle or to be challenged.
Games such as Doom use blood to let you know when you're hitting the enemy as well as when they are dead. Also the violence is indeed needed to make the more fun. In the end it's still about shooting things.
In Mortal Kombat the fatalities are a reward for winning the match but the match is still worth playing.

In order to understand that there are a lot of games that you want to play for the sake of the plot or gameplay, and sex in them is just a nice addition, a person needs to have at least a little brain and critical thinking. And with this, some people have a really big problems... Therefore, they carry all sorts of nonsense like "Yes, I'm sure that you spend a lot of time on gameplay to see one erotic scene, because there are no simpler and faster ways on the Internet to see something like that"

Actually, no, it has a couple things going for it.

The retro graphics are nice as is the soundtrack and overall gameplay (they could have cranked up the difficulty a notch, but still decent). You could replace the shagging by some other conversion mechanic (it's pretty much what it is, they just sexualized the heck out of it) and you'd have a decent run of the mill general rated game.

No offense, but I distinctly remember when I was about 12-13 years old and I was playing soccer with 2 friends during lunch time. They were playing Mortal Kombat and they were raving about the fatalities and to my more innocent, less jaded 12-13 years old self, it sounded revolting. It made me puke a little bit inside and I thought it was gratuitous as hell.

While not a fighting game fanatic, I played Street Fighter a bit back in the day, but I never got into Mortal Kombat, in good part because I thought the fatalities mechanics made it a gratuitously violent game.

Probably wouldn't stop me now, but that's how I felt back then.

So yeah, the fatalities in Mortal Kombat are a show of gratuitous violence if ever there was one.

If you think that's ok and erotic games aren't, that's definitely a double standard.

Don't forget about torture porn too! It's a genre all it's own, including games such as most of the Tomb Raider reboots! And misery porn, because why even bother to have a single positive emotion groan groan whine?

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Violence punctuates the action while porn is like a drug. Dopamine is good for the brain because it rewards you for accomplishments. Stimulation is the context of pornography is bad because it has the same affect as any hard hitting drug.

Porn is like a drug for your eyes, you look at it makes you feel good. Dopamine makes you feel good when you do something.

We're talking about potential for something here. Most people will play an erotic or extremely violent game and will be fine.

But for a small minority, they'll become addicted to masturbation or will entertain and act on violent fantasies in the real world.

We can censor everything because a small minority will react badly to it. Personally, I'm strongly against that.

Keep it out of the reach of people still in their formative years and that's enough.

You need real violence to be desensitized to it. No amount of animated violence in video games is going to make you comfortable with see or experiencing it in real life.

Pornography isn't morally bad because it desensitizing you it's bad because it stimulates you directly. If without the stimulation you have no interest in the game/book/movie than it's porn and it's rotting your brain.

Repeating it doesn't make it true. I know that I played Mortal Kombat because of the Finishers.
And I know that I tried to get the uncenored version of the Punisher. None of the additional scenes benefits the action in any way. Blowing off Zombies heads or cutting off limbs in Die By The Sword is fun, but it doesn't make them better games.
And I also just played a 18+ strategy game with heads being blown off. What action are we talking about here?

Well, for many seeing violence very much has the same effect, that's what you deny. There is a reason why gory movies fighting games and torture movies and box fights exist. And that reason is that people enjoy it due to the endorphines that are released in their body. That can be very addictive.

No objection here. But people enjoy watching violence very much. And given the number of daily homicides, they enjoy inflicting it as well.

"you should be embarassed if you own it" - If you think someone could be embarassed to own any kind of game the problem is clearly with you. Maybe see a psychologist about your problem? Being embarassed to own a video game is definitely not normal.
