You two should post your wish on their "Suggestion Box" within their Discord https://discord.gg/frogwares.
They're not gonna read it here.

I don't think the court has ruled one way or another in their spat with Nacon though, so they seem to be avoiding this topic like the plague. I tried asking them for a GOG release myself, but they've been ignoring it. Maybe with enough posts, we can get a response.

All these shenanigans just ensure that I'll never buy anything from this dev. *shrug*

In my case it would be "again". I got some for 1-2€ max each, they looked fun enough. And ... it's basically junk.

But if they ever finish the puzzle game, it's a good investment. But in hindsight I think a few cups of capuccio would have been the better choice.

I don't think that they ever will. They sell their game DRM-free on another platform (please google it since otherwise this could be considered advertizing said store) but imo it is right now really unlikely that it will come back to GOG.

Oh I'm aware and I have bought that version, but I just want GOG achievements!
The DRM-Free desire is satisfied for me otherwise.

Game-Labs is Ukrainian (and indie)...

... and...

... after Ultimate General Gettysburg and Ultimate General Civil War releasing on GOG...

... only Steam got Ultimate Admiral Age of Sail and This is My Land...

... 2 IMHO great games.

And unfortunately GOG probably won't get Game-Labs' upcoming Age of Piracy either. ;(

This Whale Rock Games' "problem" unfortunately shines light on a lot of issues here... some overt that we can see (asset-flips vs curation) and some covert (to banks potentially demanding certain "ideological" actions for future loans, etc.). But this whole situation is troubling.

If GOG would have quietly released these asset-flips and that was all... few would have said much after release day... but... GOG's constant pushing and the strangeness of the reviews should spark anyone's Spidey senses.
Damn, these "games" looks rather like bunch of tech demos, but not actual products.

I'd rather buy Cradle (which is much better puzzler, in my opinion) second time after I purchased it on Steam.

I loves me some "junky/janky" games, so I'd be ok with getting a few of the games for $3-4 each....sadly, though, they seem to be intent on pushing the "take the whole lot(to get one or two things/songs you want)" sales technique that worked so well when the record labels used it long ago.
The individual games will likely be 80%-90% off again soon, given that they've regularly been on sale individually at those discounts.

ONLY on GOG? Really? I guess that's technically true, but the GOG bundles contain less than the Steam bundles. Let's compare.

GOG: "Whale Rock All Games Bundle" / 15 games / $203.89 regular price / $20.38 sale price
Steam: "SALE 93% - WRG BUNDLE -23 GAMES" / 23 games / $23.67 regular price

GOG: "Whale Rock Games - Immersive Puzzles Bundle" / 7 games / $116.99 regular price / $11.69 sale price
Steam: "88% Sale - Immersive Puzzles Bundle+" / 8 games / $15.67 regular price

I think we know what will happen to those Steam bundle prices when the games go on sale.

Seems as if you win and the publisher/devs lose.

Whale Rock charges a seven hundred and sixty percent markup(761.4) on GOG? Damn, and I thought loan sharks were bad. Oh well, I guess it could be worse....at least it's not as bad as some payday loan rates.
My first post in like 4 years, just to say:

I insta-bought PolyClassic wild when it got here a couple of months ago. I finished it in 17 minutes. Wrote the "most helpful" review, and refunded it. Worst game I have ever played in my life. I felt totally scammed, until I got my money back. But it still left such a bad taste in my mouth that I've stopped buying on GOG since then.

And yeah, Steam has the same game - plus much, much, much, MUCH (much) worse stuff. But I guess I always felt like, "at least I'm not going to get outright scammed on GOG." Now that that's no longer the case, it puts Steam and GOG on an even playing field in my book. If I'm gonna get scammed either way, I'd rather just use Steam because I personally find it more convenient in the ways that matter to me. I've had a lot of reasons to feel exhausted with GOG lately, but curation being nuked was just the final straw for me.

I can't speak for other Whale Rock games, but make no mistake - PolyClassic Wild is a scam. While the description is technically accurate if you stretch some definitions, it leaves out the fact that they are selling a stolen 17-minute tech demo instead of a game, and posting fake reviews that are wildly and disgustingly misrepresenting the product to try to trick buyers.

Anyway... I have no idea if GOG reads the forums these days, but I just wanted to take this opportunity to express my dissatisfaction and disgust with them.

Well!, as least you get to keep your kneecaps...
