chevkoch: Well-deserved win, PaterAlf! Congrats to both winners :)

Thanks again, ZFR, for this giveaway celebration thread.
Very much ^This. :)
Congratulations PaterAlf and adaliabooks.

That reminded me, I should return my avatar to normal.

I'll do it one of these days...
christian bias! a CHRISTMAS related giveaway wins?! I feel like it should have been DISQUALIFIED because of its non-inclusiveness. Let's create elaborate lies to tell to our children to further the materialism and consumerism greed-focus of society, YEAH! *barf*

Well maybe you should have read the description of my giveaway. It was called Christmas avatar giveaway, but in fact you could enter with any winter-related avatar as well (and in fact several avatars won that had nothing to do with Christmas).

And if you really think that Christmas is mainly about materialism, consumerism and greed, then I really wonder who is the biased one.
Congrats to the winners and thanks to all the generous people around here. I wish you a great 2015 year :)

I didn't care to read your giveaway post because the subject line did not make me want to click the thread to open it, because it was about CHRISTMAS - something I despise. If it wasn't exclusively about christmas you shouldn't have made that the subject line.

I AM biased against christmas, because the MAJORITY of what I see about it (not all, certainly, I give gifts at christmas, this year I donated money to a charity for each person in my family and gave them the information about that charity), has to do with buying things and getting things. Show me where the love, joy, and goodwill toward people is more prevalent than the materialism and greed, and I'll start to shift my bias.

Congratulations to PaterAlf and adaliabooks, and a special thanks to ZFR for hosting this awesome giveaway! :-)

I'm glad PaterAlf is getting the award, he really deserves it! :-)
Congrats to PeterAlf and adaliabooks for the deserved win! Wonderful to see some brilliant generosity rewarded. Once again, thanks to ZFR for a genuinely spectacular giveaway! :)

Well I can't show you if you can't see it yourself or don't want to see it. And you are obvioulsly not interested in the christian Christmas message, so I won't tell you anything about that.

So feel free to keep your despite about Christmas. But it might be a good idea to take a closer look next Christmas. Our world as a whole isn't just bad and greedy. There are many people who do a lot of good things (throughout the year, but especially during Christmas time) and bring love and joy to other people (sometimes people they don't even know). Maybe you should stop looking at the great picture, but look single at people in your neighbourhood instead.

You're just deluding yourself into thinking you live in a different world than you do. That is helping to add to the detriment of the world. Get a new perspective, accept the truths, and maybe things will start to get better in the world, not worse.

Well, I came here just to see the results, say hello and congrats the winners so I don't get that argue guys. There is not need to be rude. drealmer7 has his opinion, PaterAlf has his opinion, everyone has his own opinion, so don't take it personal as this is a friendly place.

Anyway, congratulations to adaliabooks for promoting the winner GA, and to PaterAlf for being the host of it! Keep that spirit in 2015!

Cheers to you all!

Well, maybe stop being bitter and cynical would help even more.

But let's end this conversation. As montcer9012 said, you have your oppinion, I have mine and arguing in this thread won't change that.

I'm not bitter and cynical. I'm a realist.

You end your post with "peace" but I find it interesting that all of your posts are anything but... However, I won't belabor the point made by others. Heck, I consider myself Jewish but I hosted the annual "GOG Secret Santa" this year... Allow me to remind you that the winter holiday season is about more than materialism - it tends to bring people together in a general spirit of goodwill. But as I posted elsewhere, why don't we celebrate this sense of communal goodwill everyday? The spirit of THIS GA was to celebrate just that...an everyday spirit of good will. So what that PaterAlf's avatar GA won? I am fairly certain that the host of this GA did some random selection as most of us GA-hoster's do...

Does coming here and splattering this GA with ill-will serve any purpose at all? Or does it just brand you as just another person that spreads ill-will through-out the year but especially during the holiday season? I suggest you find something in your life that gives you as much joy as this forum finds in gifting others all year-round...yeah, that might do the trick to cure your bah-humbug spirit ;-p

If you mean mine, then yes. The selection was random. I've even put attachments.
