If he had created a new topic (which would be the right thing to do), it would not really be a duplicate, since it's a bug in another game.

Just that I think four year old topics on game forums here are in many cases as current as you can get, especially ones regarding technical problems. So assaulting someone about necro posting is only justified if the topic indeed is finished and closed in obvious way.
