It is on russian, sadly.
preliminary translation:
Allegro with its snippets uses outdated version of system timer, which isn't suitable for modern processors with 3+GHz and/or with dynamic frequency in win vista/win 7. Timers start to overclock, game eats all available resources and because of it game needs something for "leash", which will stops her.

graspee: since if I could supply changed allegro dll or eador.exe (which I wouldn't be allowed to do for the exe anyway) then people would have to be naive to trust I wasn't up to no good. I wouldn't trust me!
Actually, there were precedents of including fan's work into Genesis's release version.

What about this ntsleep.exe program the russian sites are mentioning a lot? Have you tried this with eador? If it workss it would be better than having to manually run the game through ollydbg or api monitor each time.

edit - d'oh, this program is on first page of that thread.

I haven't tried it, because my system can run Genesis without shaman's dances with tambourine.
