Gotten myself the trilogy. Hope we will get the original in retrospect :) Tho I have the CD somewhere I'd still prefer to get a gog version ... its a pain to dredge up old cd's and gog is nice.
Absolutely agree with everyone's thoughts on getting the original Broken Sword on GOG, I have heard from many fans that Nico's voice acting on the DC is a bit sketchy and having played it i would agree. There is definitely 'something' lacking from the DC version...some magic from the original.
Though if you notice at times im pretty sure that they have borrowed some sound bites and animation from the original game.
Im currently running under win 7 so my broken sword origianl disc is having issues running so would be extremely fantastical and brilliant if GOG negotiated Broken Sword from revolution and added it as a bonus to all of us who bought the series already from the site!

Keep up the great work GOG team!!!
I recently finished the Directory Cut and I was kinda deluded.

The new part is fairly small, it seems they put it in the begin just to say: `look! new parts'. I was hoping to play Nico again in the game. (For example to steal the tripod), but... nothing.
The question I had playing the original was `and what did you do Nico when I was around the world?' remained unanswered...

They added few new movies, but they did not replaced the old ones nor made the new ones with the same style. So the movies style is inconsistent.

I am also for the original!

Al3xand3r: Further to my previous email, I am pleased to inform you that Good Old Games will be offering the original version of Broken Sword as a bonus for purchases of the trilogy and possibly the Directors Cut as a standalone game. We will discuss further with Good Old Games and attempt to get a free download code for you once the game has gone live on Good Old Games.
Splendid!

Al3xand3r: Since people are discussing this subject here also, I wrote this in the announcement thread 3 days ago:

Well I wrote an email to Revolution and they seem pretty nice and interested in what fans think. More of you should e-mail them (politely, please, don't call DC trash). I didn't actually ask them for a key since I knew the original release is not available, I just asked them to offer it alongside the DC if it's possible, they either misunderstood or wanted to show their good will anyway. Anyway, here's the reply:

Hi Alexander,
Many thanks for your email, it is great to know that you are a fan of our games. We have approached GOG with your suggestion to see if they can do this. Unfortunately as the first game has never been released digitally we are unable to provide you with a free access code. Thank you again for your support.

Today (an hour or two ago) I got another e-mail from Revolution:

Hello Alexander,

So, sweet. Although between the first and this I finished the DC (and moved on to 2) and it was mostly fine, lol.
Great!!

Excellent.

The director's cut added a lot of extra depth to the story, but certain dramatic parts (mainly the intro) suffered, imo.

Even though I thoroughly enjoyed the DC, I still found I missed a few of the parts of the original game that were changed.
Big thanks to everybody in GOG team ;-)
Wow! Good on the guys at GOG for adding in the original game. Just finished up with number two but I suppose I can go back and play the original again for old times sake :D
