now I know such thing would be hard but thats kinda the point

I dont want to go thief nor mage as those I have seen they can solo game

but it would be interesting and quite a challenge to solo game with a fighter,,, I am thinking berserker or maybe a barbarien

and I am not certain of when or when not to go with shield,, 2 handed or 2 wepon,,

I am kinda leaning towards 2 handed as that spiders bane is just awesome

I know the game quite well so I think its a matter of getting to a high lvl, potions, alot of buffs and maybe a little bow and arrow

is it possible?
It's possible. A quick google turns up a number of results, although most are in regards to BG2. Still, it's definitely been done.

great! it will be quite a challenge hope to be able of taking on sarevok solo,, just have to lure him away from his friends

edit,, hm I try google that looks like some of what I looked at allready,,, mage/thief no pure figher,, the backstab and magic makes it alot more easy

Which game are you talking about ? Baldur's Gate doesn't feature berserkers or barbarians and BG2 doesn't have Spider's Bane.

Solo FTR in BG 2: http://social.bioware.com/forum/Baldur039s-Gate-1-and-2/Baldur039s-Gate-2-and-Throne-of-Bhaal-Official-Campaigns-Spoilers-Warning/Solo-Fighter-3136057-1.html

Some talk about it here: http://www.gamespot.com/baldurs-gate-ii-shadows-of-amn/forum/solo-fighter-run-47346767/
I think it would be easier in BG1, where you can just potion and green scroll your way through tought fights. BG2 traps are going to be a bother for a non-mage non-thief.

it will be bg1 tutu....

I cant risk getting charmed or confused etc,, which the rage of berserker or barbarien is immun to and traps will be a bother,, but if I remember right I ended up with about 145 life with a lvl 8 berserker half orc

oh and btw what kind of green scroll do you mean?

edit: oh and I think getting The Horn of Kazgaroth early might be useful to have for a while

Green scrolls are the 'protection from...' scrolls that any class can use. (Protection from Petrification, Protection from Magic, etc.)
I would think that soloing BG 1 is definitely doable with a fighter class.

Soloing BG 2 however would be much harder because of the magic using enemies and generally harder battles.

The berserker class would be my choice because of the immunities granted by berserk. When soloing even a charm spell can end the adventure, not to mention other spells and/or abilities. As for race, I'd go with dwarf for the high constitution and better saving throws.

As for weapon choices, I'd actually go for dagger in bg 1 (take a look at what Beregost's smith has for sale) and probably long bow with it. Other feasible options are long sword and two handed sword.

For BG 2 there are many good weapon choices available so you have more options available. Getting through certain encounters will most likely require you to choose your weapons accordingly. My recommendations: flail or two handed sword, with short bow for ranged attacks.

well I have no intentions of soloing bg2 as the npc makes it alot more fun

but bg1 I never try to solo so it might be fun and interesting,, I dont know about dwarf,, orc is pretty good too

my stats are 19 str 18 dex 19 con 18 charm, 7 int 3 wisdom,,

why would I use a dagger? without backstab I dont see the usefulness of it

edit: btw is that 9k ring at friendly arm still there or removed?

Because the best weapon of the game is the dagger of venom +2, and it can be acquired early. It does continuous poison damage thus making enemy spell casters a piece of cake as they cannot cast a spell while taking damage. And daggers aren't very good for backstabbing actually. Quarterstaves are.

hm,,, that might have worked,, I just took a look but it says only up to 15 dmg,, which does not seem like much,, still could be good vs mages

I went with orc allready lvl 3 allmost 4 doing quite alot of dmg and if I get a critical I do around 36+- I have plenty of money,, now I just cant remember where to get a +1 2 handed sword
Dual axes can be pretty fun in BG1. Kagain plus buffs and axes made a great addition to my evil party.

edit: though it will be a while until you can have a nice pair (i think until after Durlag's Tower at least?).

edit2: when fighting that mage at the bottom of the mines, might be amusing to try:
drink a potion of invis, sneak up to him, and then use the green protection from magic scroll on him. You could use on self, but that wouldn't be as funny. Of course, most pragmatic to save prot. from magic for the last fight, or for Aec letec (does that work against death gaze?).

I could be wrong but I think the green protection scrolls require a certain minimum wisdom/int stat to use (can't check now - at work). There are still potions for some protection though.

Green scrolls require 9 int to use. Well technically ALL scrolls require 9 int to use, but as a fighter only the green ones will be available anyway. There's no wisdom requirement.
