Overview:

A space tactical role-playing game the plot of which is set is an enormous, living and spontaneous world.
Playing the role of a Space Ranger of one of the space races you will have to save our galaxy from imminent peril, together with your brothers in arms, and solve the mystery of Mahpella.

I still have my old copies of Space Rangers (and Space Rangers 2) and still find myself replaying the game from time to time on my XP machine.
As the GOG description suggests - Randomly designed star system, amazing computer AI, and variety of game styles make this game a solid offering.
(Keep an eye on some of the dialogue text.... While some would criticize some of the translations read more to English, I personally believe it gives the game even more character.)

Love this game

I love this game. The music is beautiful and calming and the gameplay is very challenging. Also, unlike Space Rangers 2, it works correctly on a netbook with Intel integrated graphics.

Two, Not One

I really love Space Rangers 2. I bought the package others have talked about with both 1 and 2 in it. I started with 2 and it is a truly unique and wonderful game. Adjustable difficulty factors make it infinitely playable.
However, I have tried to play 1 a few times and find the interface just a bit awkward, so I've never completed it. It seems to me that in 2 they cleaned read more it up just enough to make it work well. I'll try 1 again, sometime - I really love the variety and creativity behind the concept.
