It's too late fo me... i bought this game since some year on steam...
I always try on GoG first because no DRM, but it's very very too late :(
Well, for people who don't have and like these games : Take it !
I recommend to use the mod 'Long War', who add lot of content in this game.

Played through this the first time on PS3. I remember it being hard enough that I had to restart a few times. And I was okay with that. Playing through it again on pc and I really don't remember it being so random. Maybe I was more tolerant of it back then, but now, I find it incredibly irritating. Enough to make me stop playing it. It doesn't help that the controls are kind of wonky on PC and the graphics aren't much to look at. Clearly, it was designed for consoles. I also don't like that I'm forced to wait for all the actions to play out. As in, I'd like to tell a unit to move and not have to wait for that to happen before I can switch to another unit. The game is just kind of clunky. If XCOM 2 comes to GOG, I'll pick that up. I'm sure it'll be better.
I played around 200hrs of this game on my PS3, 200hrs on PC (Steam + Long War Mod). It's really nice to see XCOM: Enemy Unknown here.
A fresh breath into the turn-based Strategy game. You can carry 6 soldiers into the missions, all of them have 2 actions per turn, some classes have special actions (with extra-free actions) and your base - when not doing missions - has a minor building mechanics.
The game is really good, it aged well imo (until you play XCOM 2, hopefully it'll be here as well). It'll add fear, satisfaction, rage and deception, it's hard but once you get a hand on it by the time you are halfway throught the game you should be 70% OP, which is why I recommend Long War mod.
Once you are tired of playing the vanilla, go for the Enemy Within expansion which further expands with new classes, enemies and things alike. I'd say to give the game a go, one of the few good and ALIVE turn-based strategy games
The story is great and the turn-based combat is really good. I really like having to manage the base and choosing the path the research takes in terms of developing new equipment for your team. I will say that this game came out in 2012 so it still being 50 dollars seems way too expensive. At least it includes all DLCs I guess. I'll keep the review mostly about the game though, so it still gets 5/5 for me.
