It's OK, but no vibes of UFO...
No near XCOM 1,2 or 3. game very simplfied, 2 action points ?? Music ok, but... it's not the same dark and murky ambient as 30 years ago ... Graphics... I don't like it, it's not the same climate as original games or JA2 etc. Graphics performance? terrible... game runs at ~20fps (and some screens - like equipping solders - at 10FPS !!! on a PC which runs Witcher3 on med settings at 50FPS !! with way better graphics !!!

Slot machine, not a tactical game
After few hours of this I'm starting to understand the memes that are dedicated to this game. The point-blank misses are the top layer of the issue. The rules of the tactical battles are not clear at all. You can planning best tactical positioning but random critical strike will break your full cover. And then, you will load your last save or overcome the mission with remaining troops. Game feels more like a product and less like an art - graphic engine doesn't have style. Aliens are typical popular culture references. Not my cup of tea plus bad tactical game. If you want honest and clear rules you can choose any modern tRPG - Jagged Alliance 3, Expedition: Rome, Metal Slug Tactics. Literally random tRPG is better. This is not the best successor to the legendary series.
